Sword Hilt is Epic-Star. Dagger is Epic-Star. Sword Blade is only Epic though.

Purple-Star. I believe it just means that it will have a special appearence.

The star is there to tell you that the item is max level which is level 18.

He is wrong, the star means special appearence, i have lots of Heroics that's maxed without stars.
