Yes exactly if only way to kill your opponent is thousand cuts it should be able to it faster. That's it. Even her light atacks are extremely slow and easy to parry.

Can Valk get Headbut off right trigger after a guard break, almost never get a heavy off it and have tried every combination of joysticks and trigger. Also today I have been having an issue of the valk responding as if no stamina even though over 50% but this is very rare.

You bring up a good point. I do believe her speed is something most people dont look into.

A speed increase could increase her damage output, and make her moves a bit more viable as they would be slightly harder to counter and expect.

All while keeping her damage at a point that its not cheap or cheezy.

You would still have to get cut 1000 times, it would just be quicker. Interesting idea to be sure.

In my opinion, the biggest problem is the low HP of the Valk. Three heavy hits can bring you down completely. I think a moderate HP increase and a slight damage increase could work, as a first option. Otherwise the speed had to be increased, but anyway she's underpowered. I just played couple of Brawls (I'm usually very good at it with the Warlord or Berserker), and lost almost all every 1v1 situation. I'm level 17 with the Valkyrie, so I know how to play her well IMO, and she definitely needs a buff, otherwise it's not fun playing her.

Don't buff her HP thats a horrible idea, instead increase her light attacks a bit so its actually worth it to light parry with her skill instead of heavy parry, which then can also start up her chain into cc

Valkyrie got nerfed into the ground. They went way overboard. She does less damage than a nobushi, without the bleed, and without the damage boost nobushi gets from way of the shark. She also doesn't have the range, the speed, and doesn't step into her attacks which makes them even shorter ranged.

Why does she have those big muscles if she can't do any damage? She's viking. Viking are supposed to be strong.

Everybody talks about speed, stam and damage but I think that Valks problem lies elsewhere too.
    She has NOTHING garanteed anywhere.
Her shield crush doesn't give you nothing. It should at least give you a free light attack.
Make her heavy's cancellable into sweep so she can mix up between her shield crush and her sweep if people try to sidestep it.
Give her a chain attack that goes form light to heavy on the second hit so she can cancel it and mix things up there also. ( Right now you can only do a second slow light that will ALWAYS get parried )

And PLEASE make her foward dash attack negative on block but not punishable like it is right now. Its ridiculous. Punishable on parry FINE!! Punishable on simple block? It makes the move utterly useless.

    So yeah.
    -Bit faster lights
    - Options from her shield crush
    - some garenteed damage somewhere ( like everyone has )
    -Bit more damage.
    - More viable sweep.

    Than she'd be okay.

Valk is actually ok i think in her current form. I've spent alot of time playing her since release and yes, she's a HARD hero to learn. The initial backlash to her abilities was likely because she just doesn't play like anything else and frankly that need to stay active and keep doing things is what drew me to the character, she's fun. I've seen alot of valks flailing about or trying to be over agressive, but the thing is despite her description she isn't going to outzone nobushi for example if they're trading pokes, Valk's main issue is her reliance on her shield techs but the shield techs don't actually do health damage, she's great at draining stamina and can abuse a exhausted opponent pretty badly.

The spear sweep is a important part of her game, and I see you mentioned it but most valks haven't properly implemented it they're spamming it and that's wrong. it's meant to be used as a mix up instead of normal combo finishers since it can't be blocked and it gives her a free heavy hit which helps get her damage in.

Her shield charge I don't see valks using enough as it's arguably her easiest to use and most important tool. All guard during the charge means she can reactively block all directions and garuntee the charge connects or cancel it into another attack after guarding. (full charge pushes people too far to get a heavy in unless they were near a wall or something to keep them from going too far.)

Her guard break also garuntee's a heavy ANY heavy. She does however lack much in the way of throw distance so she's not exactly great at edging people or repositioning via throws.

I feel like people focused too much on her auto guard dashes and counter strike abilities but when they realized they were harder to utilize than they thought just decided she was bad. The good ol block normally and GB someone while they're in recovery works fine and gives her a free heavy hit if done correctly. She also has some interesting cancels that can trap and punish people.

Also her executions are amazingly fast. Some characters it feels like you're sitting there forever waiting for the execution to end hoping it doesn't get interrupted but when she gets her kill the execution is over in a second or two.

She has an odd trait where unlike other chars her light string actually does the most damage on it's 2nd and 3rd hits with the first being the weakest whereas other chars have their damage front loaded and their chains get weaker on the 2nd/3rd hits relative to the first. There's actually a chart of every characters damage per hit and chains you'll note her full chain damage is actually not bad. if you land 2 lights it's 30 damage. 50 if you get all three and end with a top. 40 if you end with a side and get the stun. Problem is she doesn't have abusable heavies like other chars since her heavy is a one off.

I don't think Valk is broken so much as like others have said underpowered. Her utility is amazing the problem is she literally cannot do anything with it. Spear Sweep is a great attack except that it pushes enemies away from her and out of her range and by the time she can get close enough to hit them they are already back on their feet which means her only follow up is a front dash light which does almost no damage. also her spear sweep can be dodged which means that it's not even a guaranteed way to fight people. In the alpha she was apparently too strong because she hit harder and was faster but the problem with taking both of those away is it leaves her gimped and means she literally can do nothing but knock people down and then have no follow up until they inevitably kill her. This leaves zero room for her in 1v1s or even 2v2s in most cases where Orochi and PK basically are spam played and have superior damage, speed and utility to her even with her various knockdowns. if she had a lunging heavy attack it would help fix this problem except she doesn't even have that literally her only forward moving attack is the dash forward light. Also her heavy attacks take a god awful amount of time to actually complete, like even Raider's wide arching heavies land faster than hers meaning she basically can only resort to fast light attacks which do almost no damage. This makes the class more or less unplayable against most other classes who excel in damage and attack speed. even other Hybrids outplay her Nobushi's range and bleeds make Valk an easy match for her and Lawbringers superior gap closing and damage makes him much stronger. The character has great aesthetic and mechanics but the reduction in damage and speed has overall gimped her and made her not viable in most situations.

Here are the core problems with valk

    1. Her light attacks are simply too slow. If the first hit must be slow, that's fine, but even her chains are terribly slow.

    2. people can stand back up from her trip with invincibility frames, allowing them to immediately attack and not be staggered by getting hit. Her trip also comes out so slow that people can back peddal away from it. They really should have to dodge.

that's really it. Her damage doesn't have to be high. Her kit is very versatile, she's got some range on her, used to have speed when she felt good to play, etc. Speeding up her light attacks and her trip is all she needs to feel viable imo.
