Too many times have I been in searching for an Elimination match only to be put into a Skirmish, even with Elimination set to Preferred. Is there even a reason for Skirmish mode? I have yet to see any Orders requiring me to play Skirmish and every response I have seen thus far from both teams thrown into one of these matches is "Oh, I thought I queued for Elimination, not Skirmish" and then half, if not more, leave the game (including me).
So what is the intention of Skirmish? What is it there for? Is it useless and can be removed, or does it serve a purpose players do not have the interest nor the time to find it out? If there is no reason to this mode then the easy solution is to remove it entirely. If there is a reason, however, then please respect players set Preferred Mode and only put them in those matches.
The queue already changes Region, Skill Level, and (though I have yet to see it) Preferred Language, so changing Preferred Mode as well, when most of the time players are playing that particular mode because of an Order, is not acceptable. Do not allow the searching system to change players set preferences. If players want to play a certain mode they should be allowed to. If players want to jump into either Skirmish or Elimination, then there is a way to do that (do not have a set preference before queuing up).
Not sure if this is a bug as I have encountered this numerous times only lately or if it is an oversight on the matchmaking rules. Either way, it needs to be corrected.

I had this issue. Couldn't complete the orders I had chosen because every time I dropped into the deathmatch zone, it would be a skirmish. I then vote up the Elim matches, then every other player leaves the session.
Happy for them to both be in the 'deathmatch' front, but let us choose.
As the orders keep changing, I'm sure we will see skirmish orders come up.
But for now, I've given up trying to do any Elimination orders.

I have the same problem and thats really annoying...
I wonder why you put them together AND dont let us really choose one?!
Thats one of many stupid things in this game - dont misunderstand me - i like it, but it could be so much better when the people at ubisoft would have used their brains

I agree, why not seperate it, Skirmish ist just not cool in any way, imho.
Elimnation is a great Mode, especially for Teams of 4 Players. But why in the name of Odin, did Ubisoft think, that its good to add BUFFS there? Its ****ing nonsense and so annoying. Make the game even and cut them out completely. We dont want or need buffs. U see people drawing off the 1v1 Duell to get buffs, and they get it sooo insanly quick, that u cant **** about it. Whats the answer? Get buffs für urself! But is that the way, it ment to be played? I find that quite annoying.
Furthermore it might be a good solution to just get 4 duels in this mode and after all duels are settled, u duel the survivors. The way it is now, is just run and mawl 1 opponent as 2. Elimination is cool, but u gave them with NO HONOR too many tools to fight with even less... and thats sad.

Forcing ppl to play game mode they don't want isn't a good idea. I prefer to wait longer in the queue but play game mode I like than joining and leaving from the game with wrong game mode.
Personally I like Elimination and hate Skirmish where after first fight 4 ppl start roaming around the map and killing single players who are spawning one by one, but according comment above some ppl like Skirmish. So I don't ask to remove Skirmish from the game but these 2 game modes definitely should be separated.
