I'm almost reputation 2 and it's like in the past few hours everyone has become pro all of a sudden. I'm getting destroyed. And not by players who play very fair. By players who spam guard break followed by a heavy attack. There's nothing you can do against it. You can try to counter it but it only works for me about 40% of the time now. And when they are spamming it over and over I lose every time. How to fix this?? Make it so you can't spam it! Make it so you can only guard break every once in awhile.

GB is not broken..you are broken
With some practice you can maybe fix yourself.

If they spam it, you can usually beat it using light attacks. Also, training to consistently counter guard break is a must.

I suspect you're getting parried, blocked (in some cases) or dodged before these guard breaks happen, in which case they can't be teched.

I dominate everyone, but this past day has been awful. All I find myself playing against is a bunch of players that spam guard break followed by heavy attacks. Mostly orichi. I'm not broken nor bad. I can counter it most of the time. But that is still me having to play against this person constantly while countering him. It would make so much more sense if you could only use guard break every so often.

Then I think you need to adjust your counter-guard breaking techniques. Have you seen the other threads regarding this? Guard break could do with a cool down, yes.

No, a cooldown on the guard break would be too restrictive. It is just a matter of time and practice, it's not like there's nothing you can do against it.

EDIT : just to clarify, i don't say it's an easy task, i myself often miss when i try to counter it. But i blame my lack of practice rather than the game mechanisms

Well, it is a known fact that they changed how countering it works. Giving a less room of countering guardbreak, plenty of posts about it.

I myself noticed a lot of guard breaking spamm as well. Especially from Orochi players.

Sadly it's getting used to the counter system. I find it boring that it can be spammed, and so hard to counter.

The problem is .. it's SUPER EASY to execute and VERY HARD to counter .. OUT OF BALANCE
Why not make executing it as difficult as countering it ?? That way, it will be less relied upon

More and more .. as the days go on, people are seeing how simple it is to win with it and are relying on it exclusively .. It takes away from the epic fights and the amazing fight mechanics .. We want to experience fighting on an epic level .. like in the first days of the beta before everyone figured out how powerful GB is

Even if you can counter it .. they use it so much , they will just continue doing it repeatedly .. win or lose some won't doing anything other than GB And heavy attack .. Block, GB again .. lol
It gets repetitive and boring to play Duel after Duel with those type of players

Don't get me wrong, I get a lot of players who have great skill but the majority now .. just use GB .. especially with Raider, his GB is the hardest to counter
