Suddenly unable to launch the game (unknown error)

I have been playing the game for a good bit now, in the open beta and after launch and even got my Lawbringer up to rep 1 already. Failing at matches and winning them and generally having fun and meeting some new friends to play with as well.

Today however, this evening, I tried to launch the game and it won't let me anymore. It says unable to launch (unknown error) and I even tried reinstalling the game, but no succes. It still gives the same error. I tried validating the game files, but again still the same issue. What's going on? Why am I suddenly unable to launch the game AT ALL?

Hi Gashybashy! Can you please let us know your computer's system specs? Do you have any anti-virus or firewall programs running? Please temporarily disable these and run Uplay as an administrator. Let us know if this helps!

A screenshot of the error message would be great if possible. Thank you!

My specs aren't a problem, like I said I already played the game for a good while and everything ran smooth as can be because I got things like a GTX 980 in there. As for the error all it says is "Unable to launch (unknown error)" and that's it.

I tried turning off all my security but again nothing, still the same thing. It gives me this message on the Steam side so it might be related to that, but their support just refers me to Ubisoft because apparently they can't help with other companies their games regarding technical issues.

Nevermind I fixed the issue myself after some further nonsense, i'll post here my fix just in case someone experiences the same.

So, what you can do is start Steam simply in admin mode, that might be all it is. (though i'm not sure why it would be giving me grief now)

The second fix requires you to run msconfig, choose the selective startup and deselect to load startup things. Then go to services and hide all microsoft services, then disable all. This will ask you to restart, do so, and it should work again. If this was your issue then some service was interfering somehow, but there you go.
