Overhead light spam is considered low level play, for the simple reason that - given it's Orochi's speciality - every good player knows an Orochi will want to go overhead light. Therefore, it is incredibly easy to bait an overhead with a feint, wait for the low tier Orochi to go straight to overhead, and either block to start a counter or parry - which is entirely feasible at higher level.
Orochi is tagged as counter-attacker and agile and while I may agree with "counter-attacker" given its deflects and fast, yet weak, heavies (which deal 25/30 damage depending on the heavy move - comparatively, Kensei's light is already 20 damage) I disagree with agile. He is no more agile than PK or Berserker, which can dodge at same ease, speed and distance - hence a useless tag as it's not something special about the character itself.

... What? Why? How about simply parry it? Any attack you can counter with spamming light, you can counter with Parry and/or Deflect and/or Dodge. Why race them with an attack? Light attack are un-feintable, which means they can bait and block/parry you to death with it.

Good luck catching anyone randomly "attacking" when you can "simply beat it with top light" lol... Top level games consist of about 30 seconds of pacing and distancing for position before a single strike is made. You have to gauge your opponent's reaction time and skill level before you go in.

orochis light overhead is very strong though. even when i watch streams of good players, the overhead light sometimes catches ppl off guard when used as an "interrupt". i would say the overhead light is orochis best move. its the only thing he has going for him in my opinion.

but its not like it can not be dealt with. warlords just have to stand there with their perfect defense move and do nothing and can not be touched if they know how to guardbreak. wardens have their overhead counter. and in general anticipating orochis overhead light also is a way to deal with it for every class. pk lights are even faster than orochis overhead light and they can mix them up, while orochi only has his overhead, so why would anyone play orochi over pk? he has literally nothing going for him.

If they keep their guard top (doesn't work for assassins obviously) it's easier to deal with the light attack, since the side attacks are slower and their reflexes don't need to be as good to change guard and block them.
