Okay so I've been playing the Lawbringer A LOT. I've got a 70% win rate on him in duels, which is saying something. No, my opponents don't suck, they're all actually very good (except for those warden scumbags who make it not fun to play since they're so strong atm). Here are my suggested changes for making the lawbringer viable, but not brokenly overpowered.
--Make his side light attacks and overhead heavy just a little bit faster, doing so will allow him to utilize his stun effect more often and be able to punish attacks with light attacks in more than just one direction.
--Change his parry>side heavy attack into an actual attack rather than a charge (which doesn't even work, easily blocked). This will give him an opportunity to be more like other classes in that he gets a free side heavy out of each parry.
--*MAYBE* give him some uninterruptible frames on his heavy attacks at startup, similar to the warlord. Doing this would allow him to start combos regardless of an enemy's attack.
--Make his shove cancellable into a guard break, similar to the warden's shoulder bash. This gives him more ability to mix up his attacks and "keep his opponent off balance", like he's supposed to.
--Increase his stamina pool. This is crazy how much his stamina drains, and I personally think it needs a tiny bit of an increase.
--Get rid of his parry>Zone attack altogether. It's unnecessary and never helps you since you'll be hit before you can even do it, or it'll be parried. It's useless.
--Make his range a tiny bit bigger on his overhead light, the range is shockingly short.
Other than that, I don't think he needs any other buffs. He's not viable right now, but still playable. Only like 2 of these need to happen for him to be useful again, without being ridiculously broken. If I had to choose two out of this list to make him balanced, I'd say they'd be making his side lights and overhead heavies faster, and changing his parry>side heavy into a real attack. With those two alone he'd be viable.
Thoughts?
Maybe make him like a heavy fortress? I Bet he weighs A LOT. Like the fat one from Japan. He doesn't move when you try to impale him with a god dang 15 KG poleaxe, with a strong man and steel running it all through the fatty's fat. How does one in full plate fall like a wet noodle made out of paperclips, as one with a serious health-problem still stand tall? Like, WHAT IS THIS?
And if anyone says "The Lawbringer doesn't weigh that much"... well, make him fat AND armoured then? And maybe I can handle the loss of stamina with a good approach. If I constantly fall from a thing blade... well, then what the heck is the armor for? Too make it such a "Struggle" for the opponent to find a spot and shank the blade in between? And not to talk about the range you also spoke about.
The range from an HALBERD!(also called Pole-Axe) is just 1 yard? Well, throw me overboard and make me swim to HQ, because he could just use a dagger and a stick, instead. Cheaper, faster & more accurate.
I totally believe that his side lights need to be made faster and especially his lights after shove need a speed boost. The shove lights deal reduced damage to boot and are extremely easy to react to. Shove should at least give mix up options with guard break, which he kind of has with Long Arm, but it's all sooooo slow.
