I've played since the closed alpha and I've played a LOT. I've noticed that people assume that getting good is the solution to everything, because its catchy to say git gud and it makes people feel special and skilled because they can tell off their peers. Anyways, you have to expect that, so you in turn have to sound really really smart when you say something needs tweaking. Anyways, on to the main point.
First, Nobushi is just too safe. Lets start out with her range. Its currently the longest in the game. Just keep that in mind, because as we all know, range means less pressure on you, and more on your enemies. This lets Nobushi totally control the battle if they play it smart. The next thing that contributes to Nobushi's safeness is its extremely high attack speed. Its light attacks are fast, faster than berserker, orochi, and maybe even peacekeeper. I'd just like to say that I don't have numbers on this, but at most points it doesn't matter which class is three frames faster than another. Thirdly, Nobushi has its light attack combo. The whole concept is just... off. I'm fine with the speed increase, but having a free full bar of health bleed hit at the end? What? Remember that bleed also causes Nobushi to deal more damage. Joy. In total, Nobushi can put out far more damage simply mashing light attack and twirling their stick (or mouse) around than actually using their heavy attacks. Lights cost no stamina, and two consectutive hits are a free bleed and a damage buff. But its an assassin, right, so that makes sense, right? Honestly? Yeah, I don't have a problem with the combo, and I can actually live with the light attacks. Sure, it takes very little skill. Sure it basically requires being able to parry the fastest light attacks in the game to beat some ******* trying to play a button masher, but on that I can admit that getting good is just hanging off the edge of being acceptable.
But the dodge attack is ********. Nobushi can side dodge or back dodge into one of these long range bleed stabs. They're fast, high damage, and cost no stamina. Nobushi can spam these and put out massive damage. And that's only three inputs total. Dodge attacks are really a problem in almost every class they exist in. They counter guardbreak, the traditional dodge counter, as well as heavy attacks and light attacks. This means that Nobushi can be parried, and then simply dodge into a bleed attack to escape the supposedly inescapable guard break coming for them. All they need to do is keep their opponent at range, and they're fine. All they need to do is dodge back for breathing room, and if you dodge forward in response, you get bleed stabbed.
Her lights aren't faster then theirs, what lmao.
The light chain doesn't combo unless you land the second hit, you should never be getting hit by the second hit. The first hit doesnt combo into the rest. It's not "free'. You have to chances at blocking a light attack that is slightly slower than the other fast classes.
Her lights are slower and predictable. If they are going for chains you should be able to block them no problem. Side dodge or parry. It's not that hard.
The back dodges are safe pretty much, BUT they usually force themselves into a wall. The dodge attacks arent that fast either. They are faster than some dodge attacks but arent the fastest.
The dodge attacks are kind of ****ty when just throwing it out, they counter guard breaks but are predictable, slower and easy as hell to parry.
The only problem I have in the game, especially with nobushi, is that long range means when you parry, you don't really get any damage ddue to them being pushed too far after already being far. But you do gain space to dash up and get close.
She isn't broken at all though.
