    give up

I've done everything, every option I can, nothing works, still error ce-36244-9. There are some things I simply can't do because the router provided to me from my service provider doesn't allow certain settings to be changes, like the nat 1 thing. I shouldn't have to by a different router to get this to work

I dont have my router in front of me right now, but Mediacom is my provider, and everything I find on the internet tells me their generic router controls don't allow certain options, like DMZ. Customer support even told me that if I wanted those options I would have to go buy a different router and just use their modem, SOMETHING I SHOULDNT HAVE TO DO!! Im not spending money on a new router, which wont even guarantee will make the damn update download

Sounds like your isp have got the router really restricted. A quick google search brings a up loads of users saying they can't port forward and use ur isp .

If you still have a strict NAT after these steps
You may did something wrong, or you have to contact your isp for further assistance. (they may blocking stuff)

UPNP activation on windows needs "Network discovery" set to ON for all of you networks.( otherwise upnp will note be active in windows and it will not work )

You could try to forward the ports manualy they´re listed somewhere on the forum.
( if you do so you will not net UPNP at all < UPNP is just the easier solution instead of manual port forwarding )

If your router supportrs DMZ you could do it to see if it makes a difference ( Active DMZ will open all ports and the router firewall will be disabeld this a test setting and should only be activated to determine the problem with the routerfirewall or port forwarding )
If it works with active DMZ you just did something wrong at setting it up on your router before.
    Dmz should be disabled afterwards.

If your router does not alllow any of these options just buy a new one!
Default routers from some isp´s have in generall ****y hardware buying a new one is better security stability and more control from your side.

BTW using only the modem from the provider with a self buyed router is always the best option you can have at home!
More stability more control more security!

No he's not. I did everything to get a better NAT-Type and also called my ISP. NAT-Type remains "strict".
And in this case I really know what I'm doing. And I felt really bad when I completely exposed my computer without AV and Firewall only to see if this works. But still no. ISP told me they don't block anything. And I believe them, I never hat to do something like that ever and I'm playing games for 30 years now...

I have also done EVERYTHING recommended. Even went through the steps with my IPS and Ubisoft Support. I have Nat 2 on my PS$ and haven't had any problems with my other games before. They ended by saying they are aware of the issue and it wil lbe in a patch, but couldn't tell me when. Anyone have any other info? This is BEYOND frustrating.

Well, I spoke to my ISP again this morning and they told me they use a NAT-Type which can cause these problems. They switched it back for me to open. Now I'm looking forward testing it after work.
