    Nat type question?

My question is WHY DO WE HAVE TO Open Ports just to play For Honor. I HAVE NEVER DONE any ports because there IS/WAS no need to! I can connect to many games similar to For Honor. So my question STILL REMAINS! WHY? WHEN IT IS ON UBISOFT'S END. I have it BOTH for PC and PS4! And if I have to do the same thing on the PS4...well then I am not going to play it then UNTIL THEY FIX THIS ISSUE ON THEIR END! I already read 15 different posts and they ALL say pretty much the same thing! It's UBISOFT ISSUE NOT THE PEOPLES!

Because Ubisoft doesn't want to do work and doesn't want to spend money.
For example, they did a p2p system. It's a HORRENDOUS idea for a melee reaction time based game but they did it regardless as it would save them money.
Also, why spend time attempting to fix issues when they could work out more ways to create DLC packs or ways to get people to use real money to get in game items (in a game you pay full price for, nevertheless). Ubisoft can make have some great games tied to it, but ubisoft itself, or their actions, to be more specific, is what ruins the games they release.
You can tell they don't care too much about the subject considering I haven't heard a single thing from them about it even though there's been an insane amount of complaints over their networking issues.
I, personally, have sent in tickets and contacted both ubisoft support on twitter (DM and tweets) and even the for honor twitter. No response from anything. I haven't seen a single response about internet problems that hasn't been their initial sticky (that many have complained doesn't work).
It's ridiculous. I'm still waiting for a response to my ticket I made 2 or so days ago? Wonder if I'll ever get a response.

    NAT - P2P - Dedicated servers?

After getting home with the game I could not get it going, read in the groups and enabled PnP on my router. The game loaded but using wireshark from my machine and watching my router I am questioning what the heck is being communicated? I read about P2P which seems strange as it would be very easy to put a man in the middle attack or refuse connections to my instance or my PS4. If I grab the information from the network during the game I see about 4Mb (megabit) in traffic from my PS4. If I turn off the game and reboot the PS4 I see only a few keep alive packets.
I am surprised that there are no dedicated servers as I just paid 85 Canadian dollars for this game and had to download a 4Gb patch when I got home - I thought this game was extensively tested? This P2P concept bothers me even more because I can make micro transactions and who or what system can intercept this?
Then the horrendous frame rate drops.... the inability to run this game properly is just very disappointing. I know over time this might get fixed, was this never discussed in beta testing? Or is everyone playing on PC and is this game really not for consoles? My main concern is with security and the inability to figure out the P2P connections, once I set dedicated ports in my router how will that impact the hacking attempts? These ports are known, so is it really safe to run it? Sony is also not known for top notch security....

YOU DONT HAVE TO OPEN PORTS JUST ACTIVATE UPNP ON YOUR ROUTER!

Guys most of you only need to do 2 things.

    1) Make sure UPNP is active on your windows system. ( google how to activate it )
    2) Access your router via browser and activate UPNP on your router.
    3) Make sure the game is allowed in your firewall.

    Done! Green NAT for everygame!

(some router need to be restarted for changes to take affect)

If you do this i guarantee this works on every system if done correctly

After you changed the setting in your router and on your pc RESTART BOTH OF THEM!
Make sure for honor is listed as thrusted in your firewall

Honestly I think a lot of people already tried this, and sure it might work for you but honestly some of us still have strict nat after your easy solution
