So since the full release i think I've successfully stopped a grab or prevented someone from throwing me maybe once? In the open beta i could do it 9/10 times.
Keep in mind I've been testing the shugoki out and he has his own set of explainable problems to go with that but is it just me? Have i gotten slow in the 6 hrs it took me to go pick up the game install it and play some campaign or is everyone else having this same issue?
Do you know that there uncounterable guardbreaks you can't do **** against? You may be high enough skill-wise that people don't try many counterable guardbreaks against you (although that's probably unlikely).
Out of my head, uncounterable guardbreaks occur ("may" occur - you have to press it of course)
- right after you parried
- after he used a gb that didn't connect
- after you countered his gb
- while he dodges
There might be more, not all of them might be right, and I'm still a newb, so take it with a grain of salt (there should be enough around here in the forums). This information is around somewhere, but that's what I discovered myself without research.
Oh, and the timing works, it not really changed since beta like people start to claim. Not in a way one would "clearly notice". The last few games I played this night, I got a streak where I countered like 80% of the guardbreaks (through 3 full matches) for the first time. It felt so good man, after I honestly thought I'm getting to old for this ****.
