Currently, every attempt to get past the "press A" menu leads to an error message reading "The For Honor servers are unreachable at this time. Please try again later. Contact support etc. [7-00000005]"
This also happened when trying to do the same with the open beta and so much so i was never able to partake in it. I reset my modem, disabled any unnecessary additional hardware, and re-intalled the client three times with the same message appearing. Now I have since PURCHASED the game, hoping that it was just a beta issue but am now experiencing the exact same obstacle.Testing connection, and multiplayer connection through network settings also showed no problems and was all functioning properly with no internet disruptions found. Please advise; is this just something on UBISOFT's end....? Thank you for your time.
I'm having this same problem man since the closed beta if you just keep trying normally takes me around 15 minutes of pressing a and getting the error msg you can still get in but the faction wars map won't work. I've submitted a ticket about this issue but nothing so far I'm hoping it gets sorted out having to start up the game 30 minutes before I want to play and carry around the controller while tapping a is getting old heh.
I'm in the same situation for this game. I thought it was just a beta issue so I didn't worry about it. I have ports forwarded, DMZd my xbox, hard reset xbox and modem and router, still nothing. Pretty bogus to spend $60 bucks for nothing.
What sucks is seeing that other friends that are local to me are playing it, sharing captures, achievements, etc. and I can't even get to a menu.
I feel you. I got the $100 version and have yet to even be able to play the game cuz cant get past press A. Guess I'll try Heartbreak's above 20 min carry-controller-around-hitting- A-until-it-works method

It's funny because aside from the isp and router all of the info they requested was in my support ticket, I mean I'm starting to think they don't read past the subject line. I've given ubi a lot of money over the years and I do really like their games but this current situation for some reason is really getting to me. It's clearly not on our side I mean even if they would just acknowledge that something's wrong I'd feel better but every time some one brings this 7-00000005 code up they just point them to the port forwarding crap which doesn't work. It's disheartening man to constantly be told it's your problem, guess we'll just have to wait and hope there's some kind of update that fixes whatever the problem is by mistake because they clearly are just screaming lalala with their fingers in their ears at this point. That or they're just being super secret about it for some reason, kinda doubt it though.
