Suggestion: Need a way to discourage killstealing

I have been playing For Honor since the alpha, and never really noticed the matter of killstealing being AS much of an issue. Naturally, now that everyone has access to the game, that changed, dramatically.

There needs to be some kind of fair granting of credit to the one who did the greater damage.
For example if I am killing someone, down to 10% hp, and some *** comes by and smacks them once, they get full credit and the kill. To change that, they get the kill, but only 10% or so of the points/xp given by the kill. Or, depending on damage dealt, they get the assist while the one who does greater damage gets kill credit.

Have been doing skirmish for around an hour and 80+% of the people I am trying to kill, just because they are at low hp, get targeted by whoever is near for an easy kill, even if they are in mid combat with another already. It is getting annoying as hell, and it's only day 1. Makes the "get 50 kills" challenge a nightmare...

Honestly I just see people who kill steal as having zero skill or balls to do their own fighting, and feel somewhat pity on them. Then as the teammate dies due to their stupidity, I just walk away, never bothering to revive them. Bet I'm not the only one, but something about this needs to be addressed.

There is no difference between Killing Blows and Assists in this game. They're all regarded as Takedowns and if you're playing 4vs4 modes, it's a team-based game. Your e-peen stroking is unwanted here. Move along.

And your crude idiocy is unwanted and unnecessary.
I keep track of kills and such, and when I count 15-20, I get credited at best half of those. Renoun/xp gain are different. So yes, there is a difference.

As Ave said, its more of a team game. Although sometimes it sucks to not get that finishing blow, it's better for everyone on your team to stay alive, and the other to die. Only thing you miss out on is the finisher. There's been a few times I haven't went to help people on the final blows, but the fight turned and they end up dying. If it's a huge issue, play with friends on voice so they know whether to aid or not.

I'll never understand why k"kill stealing" is so frowned upon.

if you don't realize that in a game in which K/D, personal gain through currency and exp and missions that revolve around kills / killstreaks obtained killstealing is a bad thing and that "final hit kills" are kinda crap, then you really dont know what you're on about.

Lets say I have an order to kill 20 people in dominion, and all I get is takedowns thanks to people going for my kills.

I'd still be at 0 kills.

So either change kills to takedowns and make the renown/exp rewards more fair, or just change the way getting kills work.

I know it is a team game, but dying just to steal an easy kill, really? I would love to play with friends, but most are addicted and stuck on R6, so rip that.
I'm one of those "only way to get better is do it yourself" kind of people, and having people do this is just plain annoying.

Huh I always thought person with more damage still gets the actual kill credit.. Maybe this was changed, I will have to mess with it, but I do see where you're coming from on this if you don't get the credit.

KSing is fine, what is broken is how kills are awarded.

Sucks to miss out on an execution but that is about it.

It needs to change so that Takedowns count as kills towards orders... by making orders that require the last hit you are just encouraging salt in the community

I'm ok with kill steals. What is really annoying is when somebody is trying to "help" you, but ends up only increasing enemy's revenge. If you're going to "steal" the kill, at least do it right: throw the unblockable or wait till the enemy attacks.
