    Potential "Fix" for NAT Issues

I say potential because I had to pay and not everyone will be under this condition.

My Public ip was different from my router's ip. I did some search and found out was under a CGN (Carrier Grade Nat). Where it uses an ip for multiple people and the people get assigned router/private type ip's. Upon finding this I learned it is typically bad for things such as port forwarding and can cause strict nats.

I talked to my isp for about 5 minutes when they suggest I try a static ip. Normally an extra 10$ a month. They let me test it first to see if it fixed my issues before charging me on my next bill. As soon as I restarted my router and launched for honor I had a green nat. My ports were now forwarded correctly. I wasn't able to join 1 game since the midnight release. Now I can get into any game no issue.

Like I said, this might not be the same issue for everyone. But if your isp is using a CGN (carrier grade nat) then the ports you are forwarding might not be working. That and the issues involved with this could be causing your strict NAT in general.

So good luck to everyone. Hopefully this helps someone out there to be able to play!

Also, I don't claim to know much about networking and such. All the information I got was from googling and learning basics as I go to troubleshoot my issue.

This shouldn't need to be done in the first place. All of the issues people are having with connection is honestly sad considering we are talking about a AAA company here.

Thank you man. I'm not sure if it helps me with my problem, but I read your post, googled a bit and maybe I will be able to fix that.

I update if I'll find out!

This is true, but it is also an issue with isp's. If you look up CGN and read a bit on the wiki you will see why they use it. There just needs to be a better idea in place for these situations.
