    [PC/XB1/PS4] Known Issues

    Greetings warriors!

    Please find below a list of our current known issues. This list is non-exhaustive, but we want to make sure that all players know the critical ones that could impact their game experience.

    General Issues

    [PC] Easy AntiCheat – Impossible to launch the game

    • Easy AntiCheat sometimes displays an error message. Afterwards the game doesn´t launch at all or just closes after the intro videos.
    • Workaround: Use the "Verify File Integrity" option in Uplay PC client. Open your For Honor game page, click "Properties", and in the "Local files" section select "Verify files".

    [PC] Easy AntiCheat – Easy AntiCheat sometimes displays an error message with error code 10018
    • Easy AntiCheat sometimes displays an error message with error code 10018.
    • Workaround: Close the game, check that all game processes have ended correctly (or close them using Task Manager), and restart the game.
    • Close the game and restart Uplay PC client.

    [PC] User may be unable to quit to desktop
    • User may be unable to quit to desktop after getting a "connection has been lost" error message while being idle on matchmaking.
    • Workaround: Player must restart the game.

    [PC] TITAN X GeForce GPU Support
    • We are aware of an incompatibility introduced in the For Honor Beta with the early generations of TITAN X GeForce graphics cards that make it so the game does not start.
    • We were able to reproduce the issue with our Open BETA version but have yet to successfully reproduce it on our official release version of the game.
    • If you encounter this issue in the full release version of the game, please contact Customer Support and share your DXDiag report in order to help us reproduce it.

    [PC] Gamepads not working
    • Workaround: Unplug all other non-necessary peripherals, especially Steering Wheels and Flight Joysticks.

    [PC] Controller switches Right & Left Trigger (Xbox One S & Xbox Elite)
    • Issue might be connected to BLUETOOTH Controllers.
    • Workaround 1: Connect the Controller using USB.
    • Workaround 2: Install Windows 10 Anniversary update.

    [PC] Game stutters when you are hit
    • Could be Connected to BLUETOOTH Controllers.
    • Workaround 1: Connect the Controller using USB.
    • Workaround 2: Install Windows 10 Anniversary update.

    [PC] Steam controller appears as Mouse + Keyboard in UI
    • Steam Controller button prompts are shown as Mouse and Keyboard in game even after selecting Xbox Layout in the Steam Settings.

    [ALL] Wrong Moveset shown for Lawbringer
    • Only in the Italian language, some of the Lawbringer's moveset appears with incorrect buttons.

    [ALL] "Dominant Dominion (AI)" Order unable to be completed
    • This order will not complete even when the player has satisfied its requirements.

    [PC] Steam Controller Causing Inactivity Kick

    • Players are kicked for "inactivity" from the game if they keep their Steam Controller "active" (i.e. constant button presses) for 90 seconds.
    • Workaround: Let go of Steam controller for one second during the match, every <90 seconds

    [PC] Game stuck on Black Screen
    • For the users affected, the game would get stuck on a black screen on startup. After disabling the Uplay Overlay in the Uplay PC client via Settings->General-> uncheck "Enable in-game overlay for supported games", these players were able to start the game. We are currently trying to reproduce this problem and are working with the Uplay PC team to find and fix the issue as fast as possible. You can help us by contacting customer support and sharing details on your hardware and software configuration, for example by sending your DxDiag report, in case you encounter this issue as well.

    [PC] Geforce GTX M not launching

    • We´ve seen reports that those of you who are using a GTX M series graphics card are unable to switch the game to fullscreen mode. We are investigating this issue and will have more details on the problem soon; in the meantime, you can speed up this process by contacting customer support and sending them your DxDiag report. Please also make sure that the model you are using has at least 2 GB of dedicated video memory available.

    [PC] Fullscreen Problems

    • We are aware of a number ofproblems connected to game startup and fullscreen mode. We are investigatingand have already found and fixed a number of issues which we will be hotfixingin the coming days. In the meantime, we can offer the following workaroundsthat may improve the situation. Furthermore, we invite you to contact customersupport as our agents will gather more detailed information that will help usfind and fix your issue faster as we continue to followup on your reports.

      • Workaround 1: The game does not allow me toswitch to fullscreen during the "How To Play" practice, as the ingamedisplay mode options are greyed out.

        Try pressing Alt+Enter to switchto fullscreen mode.
        This only affects the "HowTo Play" mode and the display mode can be set correctly from the MainMenu.

        Workaround 2:
        Sometimes, the game starts inwindow mode although I had previously set it to a different mode.

        Make sure the window stays inmouse focus during the booting sequence, otherwise a bug that results inincomplete options.ini being saved may get triggered. This is fixed in anupcoming hotfix.

        This issue is more easilyreproducible after the "My Games\For Honor\options.ini" file has beendeleted to reset the game´s options to default, because as the options.ini fileis regenerated, a system detection pass is running which increases the timerequired to boot the game.

        Workaround 3:

        Sometimes, the game starts in window mode after the process was killed, although a different display mode was set previously. Avoid killing the game process via task manager or Alt+F4. This issue is fixed in an upcoming hotfix.

    Connectivity & Online Issues
    [ALL] NAT Type Group Issues
    • Groups with more than 1 Strict NAT are not recommended as they will not be able to reach matchmaking.
    • Workaround: Preferably invite friends with open or moderate NAT types.

    [ALL] Mixed Region Group Connectivity Issues
    • Users might encounter connectivity issues when grouping with players from other regions.
    • Workaround: It’s not recommended to create mixed region groups.

    [ALL] Players with the same IP / Routers.
    • Players under the same router might experience various connectivity issues.
    • Workaround: Each player should have their own internet connection (Router & IP). The development team has found the root cause and a fix will be published in a future update.

    [PC] Error 00020000115
    • Returning players from Closed Beta of Open Beta might get an error (0002000115) when launching a multiplayer game.
    • Workaround: Uninstall any previous versions of the game. You may also need to reinstall the game as well.

    Custom Match
    [ALL] "No damage" option working incorrectly
    • Custom Match "no damage" option doesn't work with feats, bleed, and overtime damages.

    [ALL] Player Scoring Error
    • Custom Match player scores will be set to 0 when "Renown" option is set to "Feats Disabled"

    [ALL] Team Randomization Error
    • If there are 6 players in a Custom Match and the group leader chooses the "randomize" option for team selection, the two teams may not be split evenly. I.E. 4 players are assigned to one team, and 2 on the other.

    [XB1] User remains in Custom Match after Leaving Group
    • Sometimes players who leave a group will remain in an active Custom Match.

    [ALL] Shugoki "Hard to Kill" Feat loses function after death
    • The level 3 passive feat of the Shugoki is no longer active after dying.

    [ALL] Valkyrie "Bloodlust" Feat Issue
    • Bloodlust feat won't trigger if the opponent dies by "Shoulder Pin", "Fire Flask", "Javelin", "Bear Trap", "Sharpen Blade" feats or if the opponent is being pushed off the ledge.

    [ALL] Berserker "Stun Trap" Feat not dealing damage
    • Stun Trap is triggeredwithout effect on opponent if he stops at the outer edge of the activationzone.

    [ALL] Emote Triggered instead of Revenge Mode
    • If a player deploys Revenge Mode immediately after an execution, they will instead perform an emote.

    [ALL] Peacekeeper Zone Attack issue
    • If the player does a Zone Attack after a Guardbreak Stab, the 2nd hit does not register.

    [ALL] Soldiers not affected by Shugoki "Charge of Oni"
    • No hit reaction when Shugoki performs "Charge of Oni" amongst soldiers.

    [PC] Duel rewards (1v1 VS AI)
    • User is presented with a pop-up stating that the Rewards will be added automatically when the response comes in. However in that game mode there is no Reward.

    [PC] Host stuck for 15 seconds after selecting “Change options” after a custom match
    • After playing a “Custom Match” in a group, if the host selects “Change Options” in the post-match screen, he will be stuck for about 15 seconds on the pop-up.
    • Workaround: Currently no workaround.

    [PC] Menu issues in 21:9 resolutions (Faction war orders & Hero Customization tabs)
    • No workaround for now

    [ALL] Cinematics - Incorrect Faction Colors
    • Allied soldiers sometimes appear with a different color than their proper faction color.

    [ALL] Orders Displaying In Wrong Language
    • Changing the language option from English to German, then back to English, displays orders in a random language instead of English.

    [ALL] The price of the season pass could appear in steel

    • The price of the season pass could appear in Steel. This is only a graphical glitch of the in-game store. The season pass is only buyable in the players region currency.
    • Workaround: Quit the game, relaunch it and go back to the in-game store.
