Guys it's day one and you already think something is too hard. Play the game for few weeks at least. See if you get the hang of it... I had hard times with it at first, now I just auto defend against it...

Honestly i dont have problems with guardbreak. At the begin i had but when you learn the timming is pretty easy, i can countergb around 80% of them and i dont consider me a pro.

People who have played fighting games on a competitive level say the GB counter window is actually to large and at a high level greatly reduces its effectiveness. If you just insist that you suck to much to counter GB, simply light attack as it stops the animation and deals damage, shocking right? This game is already heavily in favor of defense, GB is the ONLY way to counter a solid defense out side of some limited unblockables. Also, you probably are ignorant of the timing windows where GB is uncounterable due to making a punishable move. There are certain light attacks, dashes, and GB misses that can be punished with an uncounterable GB, this is intentional. Please at least reach a decent level of proficiency in the game before complaining about getting punished for beginner mistakes.
This dude is a right **** eh? Anyhow, I think the window isn't too short, I feel its more a **** connection thing. My main problem with guard breaks is when me and the opponent guard break at nearly the same time and it feels like the game flips a coin and decides who wins. that being said it hasn't been a HUGE issue. I'd say duel against higher lvl bots and practice defense, but if it's a connection issue i understand your pain friend. Fight well! Die well! Above all have fun kids!!!

P.S. Satan is the lamplight of all honesty, hail him in every moment and he shall guide you through the guard-breaks.

    But he's completely correct.
Guard break is incredibly easy to tech and against decent players (not even great), any techable guard break will be tech'd.
I suspect that all of the people complaining about it being too hard are either new or are completely unaware that there are instances where guard breaks cannot be tech'd.

The only legitimate complaint I've heard about guard break is the inconsistent behaviour when 2 players guard break at the same time.
I have never, ever heard a player I consider to be good call guard breaks hard to counter.

You are completely missing the point. The window itself is fine where it is. The problem is the second thing you mention, if both of you are going for it at roughly the same time, one of you will get a guard break and the other will have his treated as a failed tech attempt, which means he now can't tech it even if he tries to do so at the correct time. This is utterly stupid. So either the timing should go back to the beta version where if you do it at the same time the one who doesn't get the guard break automatically techs it, or a new system needs to be put in place where if both players do it within a certain time of each other they both tech each other. The current implementation is just bad.

So I missed the point but also made the point?
I don't know if you noticed, but it was the same in the beta. If you both guard breaked at a similar time then one of you would end up in an untechable guard break. It's always been like that.

Well ppl will adjust to the new timing eventually BUT,
    * getting that done vs bots seems to be "ok" after half an hour of practise
    * getting that done in 1v1 is a less than 50% chance
    * getting it done in 4v4 seems almost impossible because you have a thing called latency f****** you up on top of it

Even if i know a GB is coming, a proper counter is, with this timing now, highly unlikely which is f****ed up imo.
During the beta you just had to be quick enough, which was fine tbh as mind games and feints became more and more important.

You are all forgetting if the other guys connetion or ures is higher than 50ms then you are screwed.

Ubisoft have made a game around the same mechanics as street fighter, MK and havent thought'h wait if there is a slight delay it can ruin a guys combo or GB'

You only need to look at SF & MK to see why its never played over net on any serious matches. The game needs dedicated servers and to show peoples MS next to them so we can all see if we have high lag/pings or others do. as the bar people have now is just pure BS.

Yeah, I wrote the first part before reading the last part of your post :P

Also, in both the Closed and Open Beta if it was done at almost the same time it would either automatically tech it or you could press it again to tech it. At least it worked like that for me on PS4 getting to rep 3 both betas.
