Hey Ubippl,
Thought about giving some feedback since I played the beta.. so here it is:
- First off, I had an absolute blast playing the beta, I spend all of my time in co-op on ghost difficulty with one-three buddies (I hardly ever play sp).
- The interface is alright, a big step up compared to the latest ubisoft titles! But I'd still prefer a more minimalistic approach. Simplicity!
- My ~5yr old PC* ran the game smoothly at about 50-70fps with with a mix of both low and ultra settings. Considering how awesome the game looks I think this is fantastic.
- The gameplay is great. Personally I'm a huge fan of tactical co-op. At some points I had the feeling of playing Splinter Cell.. more specifically Chaos Theory Co-op. Huge achievement in my book. I had a lot of fun both going in stealth and 'loud'.
- The AI is... poor.. sometimes. I'd like to see a bit more realism in the AIs reaction to certain situations; like enemy reinforcement not only storming the first and best base entrance in a straight line.
- The driving is awesome, I like the feel of most vehicles... right up to the moment you go offroad and realize you can pretty much scale mountains and do GTA like collision without any penalty. Crank up the realism; falling kills you, but flying off a cliff at 120mph and hitting a tree at the speed of light does absolutely nothing. Or say you're in a helicopter that crashes straight into the ground, instead of the expected pancake-death-effect you'll often see the heli flipping over, doing all sorts of crazy sheet and whenever you feel like it, you can just get out; midcrash, upside down or 20meters above ground (What's up with the battlefieldesque parachute?).
- PVP. It needs to happen, but you know that.
- I only played on the highest difficulty and while I Was challenged I foresee that a few days after release ghost will feel like easy. To me the challenge is a huge part of this. No challenge; no fun.
- I want to be able to move bodies. I realize this is something thats probably already been in the game and removed due to [Reason], but please reconsider this. Being able to move 'bodies' before killing them only makes the lack of this sort of.. silly.
- Also bodies need to stick around. Vanishing bodies is a thing of the past (To an extend of course).
- More tools! Anything from a ligther to rangefinder and climbing equipment will only add to this.
- I think this one goes without saying, but this is Ghost Recon.. it almost feels like Ubi is afraid to embrace this. The game is awesome, but it still has an 'arcadey'-feel to it, I think that you'll only add to the experience by adding realism, punishment and borderline simulation features to this. Maybe consider making it part of another difficulty rating conveniently named Ghost Recon(lol im terrible). I'm not asking you to go full ARMA (Oh god no!) but I am asking you to realize where your strengths lie: An easily approachable game with so much depth you'll never fully master it. It's shouldn't be stigmatized to a 'open world, shoot with guns lol'-game.
I suppose that a lot of you might disagree with me wanting more realism, but let me specify, I don't want a simulator, I don't want to walk to reserve energy, I don't want to die when I run over a rabbit on my quadbike, I don't want the alpacas to spit on me. But I do want to feel the pain of a helicopter crash, I do want to die when I release my parachute too late, I do want to be punished when I'm reckless and go in guns blazing! I want to be reminded that this isn't counter strike, battlefield, cod or gta whenever I might treat it as such![]()
Can't wait for the release,
Pie out!
