    GUYS I FOUND A POTENTIAL FIX

    Go to Geforce Experience, and click on the game where it usually optimises the game. do your custom settings, set it to windowed before you launch the game, works wonders.

    Welcome to the forums!

    Can you try the following steps?:

    Open your Control Panel, and make sure to uninstall anything which is related to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.

    Once this is done, please download and install the following files :

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2005: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=21254
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=29
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downl....aspx?id=14632
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2012: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=30679
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2013: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=40784
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2015: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=48145

    If the above links do not work you can find the full collection here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/2977003

    Can you also confirm which drive the game is installed on?

    Thanks
    I've tried all of these and everything else i can find to try and it still only boots up as a background process

    Fixed for me

    Ubisoft are you actually out of your mind?! You need a user to help me after going through my old laptop to be able to play the open beta and the released game?!
    This should have been tested way back before APLHA, not closed beta or anything later. Also, this is just not gonna happen often for me. Either you fix this, or you won't see my money.
    Guys, we live in 2017. Xeon processors are powerfull and games do not need the CPU/GPU power ratio they needed back in 2004.
    Xeon processors are the ones to go for people who want to do design work on their gaming computers!

    FIX THIS!

    Disabling Hyperthreading in BIOS as a Interl Xeon user worked to start the freaggin god damn game finally!

    EDIT: Why do I have to fill an anti spam capcha as a registered user?!
    Also, support shame on you for making me do several things, when the solution is just that simple and 1minute away from the beginning of the problem. Stop making us moving files to C:, uninstalling several Redistributables just to install it again (no, i don't think there are so many users whose install got corrupted), and tell your employer that you don't feel you can properly help the costumers, because you really didn't help me at all!

    Alright, here's what fixed this problem for me:

    Instead of installing the game on C: (like the sticky post tells you to) I installed it on the same drive where the UPlay Client was installed to.
