Microtransactions do NOT belong in a fully priced game, and it's killing this game!

In addition to being a really scummy buisness-model, the microtransactions are sucking out all the fun of the progression system. It's IMO even worse than a lot of popular f2p games, e.g Dota2, where it's only cosmetics.
In for Honor you buy the characters, item packs and all the cosmetics using your money after having paid the full AAA price for the base game aswell as possibly buying a season pass. It's no fun logging in and within 1 hour of launch meeting an entire team with the highest tier of armors with both sounds and particle effects attached to them.

Is it just me losing my motivation for playing this game when i know i can just unlock almost everything by using money and not having to play the game?!
Is it just me starting to dislike this great game because of the overbearing f2p-preassure and grindy feel to getting what you want?

Unless the full game includes a way to pick top level gear beyond the premium pack, the scavenger packs only drop gear based on your level, you have to "prestige" a hero to get gear above level 2 or 3 in the first place. Plus its random.
Also you earn metal through gameplay. complete daily and weekly orders, global events, have your faction hold the most territories in the faction war, etc. Unless they COMPLETELY changed the scavenger packs from the betas, there is no way that it would actually affect gameplay or balance. The packs aren't even worth buying unless you reach a higher rep. level for your favorite hero.

Now, Microtransactions are a horrible business model, I never invest a single PENNY into them no matter the game, even if its done in a semi "reasonable" way, however I don't think they are going to be a problem in for honor, the simple fact that they EXIST shouldn't be enough to through a fit, look at the details and how they work first.

Microtransations are killing a game that literally just launched? Do you have numbers to support this?

Most MIcrotransactions are cosmetic, so I don't know why people have a problem with it.

fyi the "microtransations" aren't really "microtransactions". as you are not paying real money to advance through the game. so you've already lost credibility there. Now ruining the game on launch when its only been released for a little over an hour is ludicrous. i doubt you have any source of info on this being legit.

Because 90% of this game is "cosmetic".

If you take away all the visuals, the customisation, the pretty maps, the music... All you have is a blank shell of a combat system. Functional, sure. But not the game we're here for.

It always annoys me when people say that microtransactions in AAA games are okay if they're "just cosmetic". No, they're bloody well not okay! Cosmetics are a huge part of this game! The game's customisation and aesthetic is one of it's key selling points.

Fee-to-pay systems are disgusting and it breaks my heart to see such a great title ruined by their presence. I'll still probably get FH down the line because I did enjoy it. But no way in hell am I paying full price for a game that is going to gouge me for microtransactions down the line. Truly disappointing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can buy the "Steel" currency with real money, yes?

Trust me, I want nothing more than for this to be false. But if it is true, then you can basically "buy" any in-game item with real money by getting the necessary steel for it.

LMAO, people paid huge amount of money for skipping three days of progression and you bother about it? I'm feeling sorry to them cause even purple gear in this game doesn't make pro from potato.

I think it's even the opposite. The purple gear I saw was very specialised and by all means normt "well rounded".

A new player can not rake advantage out of it - it is rather going to tear him down, because he is likely not able to make up for the heavy downsides.
