I have been having some crash issues with FarCry3 , so i decided to Un-install/Re-install to see if that would fix the crash issue , so i Un-installed it , and when it asked if i wanted to Save my files , i said Yes , so i went thru the install , and opened/logged into UPlay and tried a File Integrity Check (i had also done this prior to un-installing and found this same error , so i thought this was the reason for the crashes) , so it gave a error saying "Failed to validate game files ,Try Re-Installing the game and if the problem persists then contact Ubisoft Support" , so i un-installed again , this time i chose to delete my game files (i am assuming save games , etc) , and restarted my PC after un-installing , so as to make sure everything was clear
So after restart , i looked for the game folder and it was there , but empty , so i figured the game un-installed , so i tried installing again (this game is on disk's , not downloaded , and i have limited Satellite so i would rather not download the entire game as that would use up my entire bandwidth for the month and then some) , and it gives the same error , so i download and manually install the 1.05 patch , and try the check and it gives the same error , i can do the error check on FarCry4 and it does it with no issues
Anyone have a clue as to why it keeps giving the same error over and over ??? , i dont want to start playing again , and have it start crashing and screwing up the game like it did before , so i would like to fix this issue , but don't know where to turn , as i tried what i "thought" would fix it , and it did nothing , but cost me my progress (single player is all i play)....Any help (aside from saying to download the entire game) would be appreciated .... Thanks ...Jim....
I see the "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired" error every time when I validate files integrity in Steam.
Perhaps it's a feature. People say that: "The file that doesn't validate is the encrypted DRM which can't be identified as ok by the validation program due to it being unique and encrypted. Its not a problem and occurs with a lot of games"
Anyways, don't expect any support from UbiSoft - this game is abandonware.
if ya got windows 10 and your game is crashing you need to shut off tablet input service
your PC is not a tablet .. so shut that off ....its enabled by DEFAULT in win 10 , and yes it messes up this game as well as a few others
its a microsoft issue
press windows Key + x
open task manager
open the services tab
click name in the upper right to put them in aphabetic order
look for tablet input service
right clik on it and select stop
then if you need touch screen services after you are done playing the game do the same thing except select start the service
i killed that when i did my initial win 10 install .. i already killed it by opening
action center
open all settings
open system
select tablet mode
move both sliders to the Left
under options there i see
when i sign in - use the appropriate mode for my hardware (or desktop mode)
when this device automatically switches to tablet mode
is set to always ask before switching
again my PC does not have any touch screen installed ,so i shut that all off months ago when i did my initial Windows 10 Pro installation
Microsoft was made aware of the issue ..but has not fixed it in WINDOWS 10 ..when you install Windows 10 you need to go over your settings when you set up your operating system
see :https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...2-1d8a3bfd06eb
i had to shut a ton of things off ...in both windows 10 Home thats on my laptop as well as Win 10 Pro thats on my desktop ..when i first installed win 10 over a year ago .
also try launching both Steam as well as Uplay as run as Administrator

As far as the older version of UPlay , as soon as i started the game after doing that , UPlay did a Update and also patched the game to last patch (1.05) so i don't see that being the issue either ,,,.... i am getting random Windows 10 crashes now , they are all exactly the same error , so far Microsoft Forums have been no help with a actual "fix" , the Windows crash , which could be related is ..... The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Generic-&Prod_USB3.0_CRW-CF#MD&Rev_1.00#201601060924&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}. so i don't know if its all related or not , i have tried System scans , and it always says no issues found , so i am no closer to resolution , its just annoying to play then the game crashes and you have to go back and do over what you already did because it crashed and you did not get a chance to save ....
I am about ready to just go back to Windows 7 , , on my 7 PC i can play these same games without crashes , its just a slower PC (smaller CPU, less ram, ,older motherboard) , but it does not crash ....so that says something..... , i am wondering iof one of...not sure which one... of the last Windows Updates is the cause of all this ,,,, the issue is tracing it out to find out which one it was....................Either way , your constantly worried you will get thru a mission or what your doing , and can get to a Save place before it crashes....
