just thought id tell you deleting the the game and reinstalling doesn't help either once it has been done it's done ......maybe they will change it later on but i doubt it might as well get used to your warden being a chickOriginally Posted by Norfein Go to original post
I made the mistake of picking a female Viking in story mode and after playing the first mission and realizing how TERRIBLE the female voice actor is I really wanted to change. Is it truly impossible to reset story mode? Why would they design a game with such a huge flaw?
The story mode was clearly an afterthought and seems to be just a reaction to complaints Ubi got about Rainbow 6 Siege not having a campaign at all. But since it's in the game, Ubi really ought to care and fix the bugs; it's also the only co-op option.
I made the same mistakes, picking characters not realizing it was going to be a permanent choice!
This would be a good change. Once you beat the game, and have witnessed the story as intended, it should allow you to go through the story with any custom hero you want. That would breathe a ton of longevity into the story mode. My friend and I were looking forward to playing the story mode co-op, but having beaten it on hard already, and joining him on a few missions, I have lost all desire to continue mainly because I can't pick my hero. Also the co-op has many issues, like I hate how we mess each other up fighting together, so I will often leave an opponent alone that my partner is fighting because its a super giant PITA to have my grabs and combos interrupted. I wish friendly fire were off or that there were maybe more enemies instead of enemies with like 3 times the hitpoints. Regardless it is way less enjoyable than I hoped it would be, and a tremendously limiting experience that gets repetitive fast in the absence of character selection.
I'd like to add my support for this. It's dumb as hell that there are choices to customize in story mode, voiced by some great actors, yet those choices are completely and entirely removed without warning the moment we start the campaign. I don't even know of another game that actively removes options like this.
If Ubi is looking for way to increase replayability, this is one that should have been implemented years ago.
Another user adding to the support of the addition of this feature.
Just posted somewhere else along these lines, but I'll take this chance to re-iterate.
It's a fallacy that a company with such brilliant single player titles as Assassin's Creed, Farcry and Ghost Recon: Wildlands (the only GR game I've actually played) has such a short coming in this title as the inability to customize your characters again. I just contacted live support myself to see if it was still the case, and was simply told that "The agent has no personal experince with the title" and that I should check the forums. Upon doing so, I found many many more instances of people simply asking for the same thing just to be told that it can't/won't happen. I just don't understand what's so hard about patching a SP reset button in to the game. I saw somewhere that it was because of the breakables or something, but I don't see how that is in anyway related. Reset those too, it shouldn't be that hard.
I personally, only redownloaded this game in 2019 to see if this feature was added, and will be promptly deleting the game as it hasn't.![]()
