    Gender locked characters

    Hello all,
This is mainly focused for the game devs. I am just wondering if you can make the characters not gender locked. I think it add more variety and I personally like playing male characters. I know it would take more work to make the models, but imagine a female Shugoki. I plan to main Raider and Valkyrie and I would much rather have it so I can make Valkyrie. I'm sure you made it gender locked that for the immersion, but I am sure people won't really mind.

Umm... there's no such thing as a male valkyrie, literally the dictionary definition is "a female helping spirit" or "one of a host of female figures"... be happy that most classes even have the option of gender swapping; it took that much more design effort to create all those additional models purely for "immersion" purposes. Can I play a female Ezio in Assassin's Creed? How about a female Aiden in Watch Dogs? Or how about a girl character in south park the stick of truth? Nope. Be thankful they even bothered.

The Valkyrie in For Honor are not the Valkyrie of legend.

The Legendary Valkyrie were essentially the equivalent of angels who would collect the souls of the fallen and take them to Valhalla on horseback.

The Valkyrie class in FH are warriors who fight on behalf of those who failed to die in battle, to "earn them a place" in Valhalla. They are a completely fictional (but very cool) idea and simply dress up as the legendary Valkyrie as a show of their belief system, similar to how the Shugoki wear Oni (Demon) masks and wield konabos to show off their belief system.

There is literally nothing in the Lore of the gender-locked characters that states they can only be one gender. Not even the Valkyrie.

If Ubisoft doesn't update the game with opposite genders for the currently single-gender heroes, then that can be attributed to one thing and one thing only: Laziness. Plain and simple.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a lazy bugger myself. But don't give me all that flimsy "Nerr but the lore..." crap. The lore doesn't say jack about the gender of these warriors. If Ubisoft doesn't put them in, it's because they think it'd be "too much work". And you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

First of all, whoa. It was just a question, you need to calm yourself down with your feminist agenda. Second of all please remind me how many female knights, samurai, or vikings there were please. I have the answer for you, its extremely few to none at all. So if anyone should be thankful here it's you for even adding female versions in this game to appease people like you. Next time someone asks a question maybe you shouldn't answer like sucha ****head, just some friendly advice.

    mhmm

Yeah i'm really with OP on this one, its a total missed opportunity. There's no reason to do what they have done, If you want equality make ALL classes both genders. Myself and many others orefer not to play as female characters. I always viewed it as weird or perverted in some way when nerdy dudes would play as there "sexy" custom character. That being said I just don't like it, so now im assed out some pretty cool classes. Ubisoft did this with siege too. If only there was some way to put together some data showing how this decision impacts character choices.....oh well.
