What? I have no idea what you're talking about or what game you were playing. I unlocked all the characters in the beta and it was 500 STEEL per character. I earned the steel. The steel went into my steel totals at the top of the screen and then I clicked on a character, unlocked them and watched the steal go down.

    Again, what are you smoking?

Steel is the in game currency, not credits.

Faction material is what you get for dismantling items.

You are completely wrong. You get scrap for dismantling. You get STEEL, which looks like coins, for playing matches, doing dailies, etc...

Edit: And yes, you only can play the new characters, if you spent steel. It is not like the other characters where u can play them, but don´t need to pay for them. Starting characters: You can play all, customize for 500 CREDITS. New characters: STEEL for PLAYING and CUSTOMIZING.
ok, you are confusing weapon scrap/parts for steel and calling steel credits. you receive no steel for dismantling/breaking down a weapon part or armor, you receive scrap for that break down. again, steel is the in game currency.

Uh, R6S base operators cost between 500 and 2000, depending on how many of that faction you bought. The "DLC" Operators, on the other hand, cost 25000 each. Significantly more. And that game didn't tie it's in-game currency to stat altering gear, outside of attachments I guess.

Word on the street is some of the elite outfits cost 25000 steel, so a character could be more, could be less. Still going to be a lot more than the 500 you're thinking.

Also there are executions (5k+), emotes (3k+), ornaments (1k+) outfits (up to 15k) and such to buy with Steel as well.
I'm not saying the DLC characters won't cost more steel to unlock but the game is out right now and the 12 characters we already know about still cost 500 steel each.

It's not more than 500. All the character unlocks are still 500 credits live. You can go check it out now. People are streaming the live version now.

Skins do nothing. I'm talking about character unlocks.

Still want to argue? It's already proven.

DLC characters will, if they follow the same strategy as RS6. Which is pretty apparent that they will. Whether or not we can play the DLC characters without unlocking them is another matter, though I doubt we will be able simply because there would be little-to-no value in the Season Pass if that were the case.

And as a season pass owner...that would be rather annoying.

Having the base characters costing 500 has nothing to do with how much the new ones will cost. Nothing has been proven.

You're just talking out of your ***. We already know for sure that anyone can play the DLC characters for free. The devs confirmed it. You will still have to pay the steel to unlock them for customization but especially if you're like me and you mostly play 1v1 and 2v2, gear doesn't do anything but cosmetics anyway.

You're trying to say that we don't know if we'll be able to play dlc characters... You can play ANY CHARACTER in the game without unlocking them. Unlocking is just for CUSTOMIZATION.

You said it's pretty apparent that they will? They already made a decision that makes it much LESS apparent that they will follow the model of R6 buy making ALL the characters, ALL 12, the same price.

I'm sorry you paid for the season pass without READING what you were paying for but it clearly states that you just get them 7 days early and already unlocked. The game mechanics will allow people to play them without unlocking them. That's how it works.

Logic and critical thinking. Are people learning it these days?
