Season Pass & Heroes - are they free for all but early for pass holders? | Forums

If it's the same as beta then those new characters will be free for everyone - you wont need to pay any steel to play them. Because in For Honor you can actually play all characters from the start, but if you want to be able to customize them (change colours, armor, weapon and stuff) - then you need to unlock that character with steel.

Honestly, if you want to do well you will need to unlock them. The gear makes all the difference. I mean, it can make all the difference. I wouldn't play the class without unlocking it to be honest. Although by the time they release the heroes most people should have steel to unlock them.

Someone did the match and it came out to over 25 hrs of grinding to get the steel needed to be able to customize the characters. I value my time. I don't feel like grinding it out.

Yeah, time is more valuable than an hours worth of pay to get the pass lol but honestly ... You don't really need all of the visual unlocks, the gear is the most important and that's not too bad to get without a huge time investment, half based on luck with loot drops and amassing currency to get the scavenger packs.

That was not my point. Just wanted to point out that you can play all heroes without unlocking them. It means that you can actually try the hero before buying. If you like it - you can spend that steel on them and invest more time in their customization.

Stop spreading BS yourself.. As I said in Beta all heroes are available to play from the start. You only need to unlock them if you want to be able to customize them. Hopefully it stays the same for launch,

What? I have no idea what you're talking about. Steel is DEAD EASY to get. Character unlocks were 500 steel in the betas. You get 3500 steel just for doing like 8 minutes worth of tutorial fights. Steel is super easy to get.

What? That makes absolutely no sense lol. I think you misread something and just don't understand the game. It took 25 hours of grinding to get the steel needed to be able to customize the characters? Lol...

I played the game for 40 hours in the last beta and had so much steel left over after maxing one character... I also had ALL the characters unlocked. They cost basically nothing. It's like 5 to 10 matches played to unlock one character and that's not even counting the quests/daily quests for MORE steel.

Uh... That's how it works in this game. You can play any character you want without unlocking them. You just can't customize them. What are you smoking?

FFS, you are talking about credits. You only get a tiny little bit of steel for dismantle items for example...

Edit: And yes, you only can play the new characters, if you spent steel. It is not like the other characters where u can play them, but don´t need to pay for them. Starting characters: You can play all, customize for 500 CREDITS. New characters: STEEL for PLAYING and CUSTOMIZING.

R6S with similar Season Pass/DLC characters cost 500-2000 depending how many you had for that faction. The new DLC characters however were 25000.

Also there are executions (5k+), emotes (3k+), ornaments (1k+) outfits (up to 15k) and such to buy with Steel as well.
