I would actually say that there is no overall advantage. The min/maxing only gives bonuses for 1 play style. So, you have an advantage in that balliwack -- however, you also create holes and weaknesses that can be exploited to greater effect. For example: My gameplay style avoids throw distance or revenge gain. I don't want them traveling far -- and I sacrifice my revenge meter heavily for other advantages. As such -- I am more limited in my options comparatively.

However (and even though this discounts my own argument) it is only fair to mention that, when you upgrade gear, the bonused stats go up more than the penaltied stat goes down. So technically overall your stats are marginally higher. However -- with massive holes to exploit -- I don't see this as making fights realistically unfair. More to the point -- if you can figure out what the weakness is in their build from the fight you gain a measurable advantage in that you know what to do to punish. Counter play is a thing imo.

So, I really don't see it as Pay2Win.

I never said there was no reason to buy steel nor did I advocate doing one or the other. Did you read the original post? The thread was to put out factual information about the game mechanics so people could make their own, educated, decisions on whether they want to purchase the game or not based on liking or disliking the cash model.

Reasons to buy steel:
1. To get a lot more gear for multiple loadouts for different modes.

2. To buy crazy skins like the Lawbringer mythic skin that costs 15000 steel and gives you flaming wings.

Sorry, phone is wigging out. I got to max gear score (108, displayed in orange) and I am still matched with NON prestige players (I am nearly prestige 4). So levels and gear are not gated. I can post a screenshot of my next match if there is any doubt... Just thought I'd finally put this to rest because I bought steel just to prove this point that we were arguing. a couple days back. I can now win most 1v2 or 1v3 fights effortlessly as well with my gear, so the stats certainly matter. To elaborate on this, I can two shot peacekeepers with my unblockable strong attack on raider, I also have a ridiculous amount of defense that allows me to take far too many hits; for this I sacrificed stamina regen. But here is the kicker, I have MAXED stats for both revenge gain by defense, and revenge duration which means I have infinite stamina to work with most of the time. I am nearly unstoppable at this point as I have not seen a single other person with 108 aside from myself currently.

While I think it's humorous you call what you say facts, it's true enough the advantage is knowing how to play the game better than everyone else. My gear is 41 spent 5 on steel but i'll get wrecked by anyone who plays better every day of the week.

Btw i can only play using free VPN , i can buy 1 year of VPN but + 45 dollars to play this game is really ****ed up if you ask me
