Had an absolute blast playing this. After one day on the closed beta I was sold, picked up the Digital Deluxe ($100) Version. When the Open beta came out, it was awesome to see the patches hitting the beta and the posts and poll's by you guys on the forum. Transparency makes the users feel great. We all get its a labor of love and including us, even slightly makes a world of difference! I will Preface this with the Heroes I used, Most to least- 1. Raider 2. Orochi 3. Warlord/Warden 4. Conquerer
- I saw the sticky on the faction war and I agree it would be beneficial to have some sort of battle of the separate factions. maybe a 3v3v3? seems feasible with adding just one more person, no duplicate heroes. Just my two cents. allocating the resources is cool - maybe you get less if you are SIDED SAMURAI but use a KNIGHT. Where as if you are Sided Viking and use a Viking you get more resources.
- I know you'll have your eye on the heroes - one thing I have been seeing is that; Playing a higher skill champion at a high level increases your chance of winning a fight. While I do agree with that, the point I want to make is all Heroes should be equal in abilities. Raider for example, has a hard time keeping up with the peacemaker, and for good reason. however I find it odd that a lighter class can block the heavy attacks from a raider, perhaps to balance this, a parry from a raider or a light guy trying to block a heavy swing too many times it will go through and deal full damage. meaning they need to dodge these only. Or add in a feature where they reel back from the hit.
- - - TL;DR of the last paragraph is: Champs will have counters, and thats good, but you dont want to leave heroes behind, the raider Excels at a few small things, but other than those he is very cumbersome for his size and strength, to say he is EASY to play only means he has less going for him, skipping him and trying to play the medium or hard heroes will give you a better payoff in the end. keep the move lists equal, add combos to heroes lacking combos or what not.
- the word Straightforward is a good word to use, I think Easy should be dropped. Need to make people feel good about choosing a hero, BadManners for oh you use an easy hero or feeling of the person thinking they are only good at easy.
-Hits tracking a dodge. This is a big one for me. Ive had a Kensei unblockable or Heavy Up track me after a dodge, as when hes jumping with hsi back turned he knew what way i dodged. I find this the exact opposite of a dodge skill. It would be very hard to track someone side stepping a move that takes that long. and it tracks every time.
- Rolling. I find the rolling feature to be over used. Not sure if anyone else thinks it to be a problem.
-Peacemaker- Seems by the polls most think she is OP - She can definitely dish out the damage - needs to have more trouble blocking with two swords. No real cons to her.
-Nobushi - This one is my one real issue, you can tell a good Nobu player from one who just picked her up. This is what I was speaking on before, if you have someone who knows her combos, she is in 1v1, disgustingly hard to beat, and very good in any other mode too. Her pokes apply bleed and her swipes, for having the longest weapon out right now are too fast, she doesnt open up, in side stepping or dodge rolling when she pokes doesnt give the dodger any advantage, she just tracks them EXAMPLE the raider feels like he is expending energy in everything he does, one of his downfalls because he is easy to block and easy to predict, but he feels like a person. she never opens up for a weakness. Do you think a Raider would stop his run from a poke of her pole? or just run though her? Played well shes invincible, (1v1 especially) and its laughable, because in a game simulating battle the Vikings would drop their weapon and grab hers and crush her skull.
Sorry if its long winded. Some might just sound like complaining- Ive been thrown off ledges, into spikes, cut down by a deadly Orochi or just flat out got out played, and I dig it, i like when some one shows me how cool some other hero can be - I had such a blast playing, and I look forward to unlocking gear and getting to learn more people. I so happy that this came out and my ideas/complaints come from a place of love. I am digging the experience you are giving. I think you guys will hone in on what feels frustrating to players and fix it.
