    Open World Exploring

From the announcement of an open world environment I was excited, but after playing the beta I have some concerns.

We need a reason to explore. Such as finding rare or unique weapons, upgrades, high level enemy camps and vehicles. It seemed during the beta that it was just a huge jungle and if you went exploring there was nothing to find but maybe a short cut. I hope that the final game will have a level of reward for exploring or it will just be a waste. It would be cool to have hidden weapon cache that have a unique camo / weapon or upgrade. Plus, they could make it more of a dynamic reward system, so it is not that same for each player and you will have some diversity in rewards that way. I really hope that the final game will have a system like this or there is no point in exploring the maps. Im thinking something along the lines of Skyrim or Fallout when you wander around and find a shack with a weapon or something of use in it.

Considering the war going on in the concept of the game you should be stumbling across dead bodies and patrols of enemies in, so it feels like you need to pay attention. I really went off track and other than finding a base ( which was near a main road anyway ) I found nothing of interest.

Just a couple points I noticed and I hope that the final game has more to offer the exploring crowd.

I did a lot of exploring and found little camps/AI enemy's guarding supplies that would appear every now and then.

While finding rare weapons or some camos sound interesting, this would not work in the context of the game. You are not in Bolivia to see natural beauty but to fight a drug war. You undergo side missions to acquire enemy intel, resources and weapons to wage your war.

I thought initially that exploration can reward ammunition and weapons but since ammo is readily available at any rally point and ammo crates are scattered around enemy camps as well, it makes no sense. Same goes for weapons, switching from one to another is done on the fly. You also can not customize weapons picked from ground.
I think minor or medium amount of resources can be rewards for exploration + cosmetic collectibles.

Just picking a few key points here...

"finding rare or unique weapons, upgrades, high level enemy camps and vehicles"
This WAS in the game? You had to constantly explore to find weapon parts and new weapons. This isn't an MMO so "unique weapons" (which are existent to an extent) wouldn't truly make much sense if it doesn't offer an edge over others. Plus, every weapon can technically be made "unique" based on your own tastes. Something I personally enjoy. Also, If you took any amount of time to look at the map, you would see you were literally in the lowest level area of the game. You could practically GUARANTEE better vehicles and higher level enemy camps are out there...

"Considering the war going on in the concept of the game you should be stumbling across dead bodies and patrols of enemies in, so it feels like you need to pay attention. I really went off track and other than finding a base ( which was near a main road anyway ) I found nothing of interest"

This can't be assumed to be nonexistent based on a "doctored/limited" version of the game. If you are referring to "foot patrols", it wouldn't make sense for a rag-tag cartel or a hired police force to actively foot patrol anything. This practice is almost nonexistent in modern military tactics, anymore. "Mounted" patrols, however, were constant. I did have the issue with the over abundance of rebels, however the starting area could be this way because it could be where the rebels presence is highest. As for bodies? I could agree to that, however this could be a "memory usage" issue which may be why it wasn't included.

All-in-all it may be best to wait for the full release before assuming these issues are truly "issues". I'm not saying you should "buy and find out", but at least catch some gameplay footage to see if your concerns check out.

I liked being on my way to a mission, see a flare get fired up into the sky in the distance. Go check it out just to get some goodies. Or go inspect what is causing the large black smoke and get goodies for doing so. Nice little reasons to pit stop along the way or head back to after doing a mission.

There were a lot of locations, and since it was beta with only one providence open to us, and completing the missions 10x over. I started just flying around until I saw small clusters of red dots and would investigate, which typically yelled some type of supplies.

    Thanks.

I had not gotten around to investigating the flares or plane crashes. That is a cool way to provide just a little more open world interaction.

    ^^This.

I came across the same stuff.

Also came across a small group of rebels burying bodies once (shovel actually in hand and digging) and a few times came up on rebels seemingly right after they hung some people.
