Hello, first off I want to say I love the game. It is a lot of fun and there is nothing like it out there. A lot of the systems to me have been done right but there are a couple that need tweaking. First off, the revenge system. This has got to be one of the most annoying features I have ever played with in a game. There is one good thing out of this and many bad things about this feature.
I'll first list the good thing:
- Makes 1 vs 2 (or more) a fairer battle
Now I'll list the bad things:
- I've played many (too much to count) 1v1 fights where the other player will block about 2 or 3 of my attacks and get revenge out of it. Now the fight is completely not fair and I have to back off until the revenge duration is done.
- Revenge happens WAY TOO often! I fought a peacekeeper (it was 3v1, me and two other allies vs her) and she got revenge five times in the fight and killed all 3 of us! That is ridiculous!
- It is just unrealistic. For honor is trying to be this realistic medieval fighting simulator (and have done a good job at it for the most part) yet there is this "revenge" system.
Solutions:
- Make it so that your revenge bar will only fill if it's a 1 v 2 or more (for the victim)
- Make the revenge system go on cooldown after the first one has finished
- If you do want to implement the revenge system within a 1v1, at least make it so that if your ally dies near you, you have the chance to fill your revenge bar, you know, to get "revenge"
Second issue with the game, the servers and P2P are horrible! Most of the time I would have to play alone cause my friends and I couldn't even connect to each others lobbies! And when we did connect, 7/10 games we would be kicked out for unknown reasons. We all would plug in our ethernet cables, run tests on other games to see if its us, and still we would have this problem. I get it that For Honor was just in beta and it is just being released, but I feel like if you had dedicated servers this problem would either not exist or at least be at a minimal. For Honor is implementing a P2P architecture to prevent lag when in fact it's done quite the opposite and even worse, it's most of the time just unplayable. I have many friends who have even cancelled there pre orders because they don't believe it will get any better because the P2P system.
Solution:
- Either make the best P2P the worlds ever seen or get dedicated servers...
Other than these two problems, the game is amazing. I've been waiting a long time for a game with realistic combat systems to come out and finally it's happening and the combat system is pretty amazing! Please take these into consideration and I'd also love to hear other opinion on these.
