How to choose the right faction?

    Hi,

I am pretty lost here. I know there are 3 factions you can choose from, and that any character you will choose will be part of one of these. But in the end, how do you know which faction to choose? Do you really pick the Viking faction because you only like to play the berserker, do your faction pick is based on your real life background, do your pick is based on that faction's badge shape, or is your pick only related to the faction that gets the most wins in order to get yourself a price at the end of war?

IMO, people will just end up switching to the faction that gets the most wins before the end of the war anyhow, because it will get them a price, and also, people playing on North American server will just naturally end up overpopulating the knight faction as always because Knights are the most common and known warriors of all time and in any region.

I suggest we get a cooldown before we can switch to another faction, 3 days cooldown could be much better in cases where you get to win prices, or even 7 days.

I also suggest we get a new faction that doesn't own any hero, which could be seen as the 'Banned' faction, for the ones who still have no clue which faction to choose and why they would choose it.

Thanks for letting me know what you guys think about the 'Banned' faction, about switching from one faction to another as many times as you want, and also how you actually got to choose your own faction, and why? Thanks.

I think you have the faction war concept confused.

The moment you start the game, you pick a faction. Knights, Viking, or Samurai. You can choose any for whatever reason whether that be heritage or just personal preference.

Even after you pick a faction, you can play any character regardless of faction. I'm in Samurai but the Warden is my second most picked character followed by the Warlord then the Conqueror. Doesn't matter who I play as, all my winnings go to the faction wars. And I am glad since I think that every character in the roster is badass and I want to play them all without betraying my fellow Samurai.

There are punishments for switching factions. Not to mention the faction war itself has very little impact on multiplayer so even if your faction never wins it doesn't affect anything. Not to mention, people tend to pick favorites. If you pick knights because you have a European background or because you think knights are badass and you see knights losing, you aren't going to suddenly decide to join Samurai. That being said, all three factions are pretty equal. One day the Samurai have control of all the territories. Next day, the Vikings have suddenly taken the lead. Day after that, the knights have caught up. So it looks like all of the factions are pretty equal.

If you change Factions in the middle of a round you forfeit the Faction rewards given to your faction at the end of that round. If you change factions after the first round of the season you also forfeit the reward for that season.

You forfeit reward and can't deploy assets as of this moment . Right you are. Too bad the games tutorial only gives the breif display of map on assets an most players probably skipped it and never do it.

Personally I picked the Knights because I intend to main a Knight champion, so it seemed to make sense. I guess you could pick based on win chance (in which case I'd recommend samurai) but a lot of people just pick whichever they think is cool.

You could also pick vikings if you happen to be a sore loser.

The faction war is global, and population doesn't matter much (game tries to balance out resources based on player count). If you switch factions in round 1 you lose rewards for that round. If you switch after round one you lose your season rewards. So I wouldn't recommend switching.

    1. If they switch after the first round they forfeit any prizes at the end. Switching for the end reward isn't a viable strategy as there is no way to know who has the advantage until after the first round.
    2. There are no regional servers. Everyone, everywhere, on every platform contributes to the same faction war. Organizing that massive of a population is practically impossible.
    3. A fourth faction would be pointless as it would just be another faction. It's not any less of a decision than joining the other three.
    4. The choice is completely arbitrary. Pick what you want for whatever reason you want. Personally, I just wanted a round emblem.
