I know a lot of people will be salty when they see this, but think about it. Why would you ever go for a deflect as an assassin class when you can parry and get more damage. For instance if you parry with the Orochi class you get a guaranteed top light chain that does as much damage as a heavy (which is a bit ridiculous if you ask me) where as their deflect light attack does as much as a normal light attack. You can also get guaranteed guard breaks after parries not to mention the stamina drain that comes with said parry. I dont think its fair that the assassin classes get all this mobility, speed, range, damage, and more defensive options than the other classes. I also think parry should get a slight nerf they are just too good, but thats a discussion for a different time. I know that there are a lot of things that need some tinkering (parries *cough*) but i just dont see the sense in having a class with deflect when there is almost no reason to use the deflect. Let me know what you're guys' take on this topic are.
They don't have more defensive options... they just have different ones! they don't have a full guard or even just a safe block they have to block each and every attack because the block times down after a second. they are different for sure but they parry and deflect for reasons i personally feel it is for positioning purposes. They play differently which means you need to think differently to beat them but they have the same chance as you to win i fight i promise.
Well first because if u deflect you can pretty much get a guaranted guardbreak aswell since people dont expect it after the damage.
Second if you get parried that much against assasins is because you dont fake enought since assasins tend to dodge (that is easier that a parry plus you can recover sometimes if it is a fake) and get the free damage.
You can cancel your parry attempt immediately to make it safe. Not saying I get parried a lot just saying it doesnt make sense to have a class that can deflect when 90% of the time they dont use it because parry is for the most part the better option. For instance on the peacekeaper, her deflect bleed is pretty weak. Why go for it when you can just parry into guard break and get the triple stab bleed that does half health. I also think parry needs a slight nerf because it is just too good for how easy and safe it is to use. I just think its a good idea to have class diversity. I love the idea of the deflect its such a cool mechanic and feels good when you pull it off, but right now every class is just a parry bot. Every fight is just spam heavy fake until someone messes up. I just want this game to succeed! Its such a blast when you get into those intense fights not knowing if you're going to come out on top.
