The tweet you reference declares the "state of the Faction War at the closing of the Beta," while simultaneously displaying a picture that illustrates that the Knights maintained the largest territorial holding at the end of Beta. I understand the confusion, as there are clearly people replying with both conclusions even in that tweet you referenced. However, if they intended to convey and illustrate a Viking victory then the territorial holdings would have reflected that.

As for the partial round sidebar, I'd refer you to my first post.

I am with the agreement that the Vikings should have won based on evidence in this thread. Though everyone put up a good fight and I had a great time regardless.

A comeback? they clearly lost, I mean come on. Vikings we're gaining more than the knights at the end of the open beta, we had more total war assets and everything.

Snatching this victory from the Vikings is probably worse than when you said particapants of the closed beta would get a reward while the victors would get an additional exclusive reward (pre obt announcement) then said later that participants would get an award while the victors of the obt get an exclusive reward...Im starting to get the impression you dont want to give us viking our hard earned exclusive loot.

It is quite literally old news but its old news directly from ubi.

ending mid-round was a bad move...

the inconsistency is so real ... closed beta playes out till the round ended, open beta cut short 4 hours.
i would like the hear any valid reasoning for this

    Please sheath thy blades.

So here's what happened: The game ended mid round where Viking had an advantage and feel like they've won. Knights see the technical victory and in some cases are trying to protect that view while others are yes...being little children say haha we won. And Samurai...rip you guys in general that last one.

    BUT

Theres some things I have yet to be seriously counted over everything other than just what the screen shows. Was anyone playing a metric ton during the beta like me? I was lucky enough to have this month be my vacation month so I had nothing to do but enjoy my friends and wifes company and play this game. I played nearly all hours of the game with breaks usually taken late night to sleep till about 8am. What I noticed is this: In terms of player base in each factions knights were at a disadvantage for many reasons over samurai and vikings.
1: Many popular streamers, youtubers and known players were playing for other factions than the knights because of personal preference and this draws their views and subscribers to their side to support their side. Theres nothing wrong with this at all and thats just part of the community. But it is to be noted.
2: Knights major advantages came later at night(GOING OFF Florida time line here, EST for those that don't know) when the player base roughly equaled out on who was playing, usually saw upwards of 300K people on during the prime day hours, and upwards of 220K people during late night hours. And during those hours consistently Knights absolutly stomped their territories with upwards of 4-8% Advantages in their contested territory defences and offences. I may be taking a bold move here but that shows to me that either the player base in vikings/Samurai just dies at night, or knights had more skilled players and didn't have to worry about the numbers disadvantages.
3: Lets consider the rest of the round continued. It ended halfway through and I was playing during the last hour leading up to it myself. I figured if there was more time we would have been able to pool more into defending our territories then offence and could have kept a narrow lead even if on just one front(Pref Viking front to reduce their gains) I could say we mighta won regardless if round continued but thats something we will never know.
4(Don't take this one seriously) This is all a plot by Apollyon to enrage us even more and bring forth our enraged spirits to war!

My thoughts: Ubisoft said fighting till the last minute would count, they should have timed the event to end at the end of the round instead of before the end. Or turn, sorry. Cutting it short felt like vikings should have deserved the win if they were going to do that and should have informed us ahead of time. As a knight personally(Didn't change once! Remember that traitors!) I think that while we won based on how the technicallity went, I feel vikings had the victory at the time of open beta's end.

Regardless theres one thing I definatly believe. If a similar situation happened where it ended mid round with vikings winning but knights or samurai having a projected win, you vikings would be like we deserved this and us knights or the Samurai would be up in flames over the whole deal.

A suggestion to take when viewing this whole deal-
Just remember that not all the facts are shown in that one picture and this won't happen again in the real game. To Ubisoft I hope they refine the faction war system and make it so that just because a player base has more or less does not give them a downright advantage over the rest(Note that in matchmaking you are matched with other factions for the battle not just your own, a fact I learned near the end otherwise you could never play with your friend who has sworn other faction loyalties) Whats done is done and we should handle it calmly if we are upset about and also to those knights in my factions who think its funny to insult the other factions or players, you bring dishonor upon your blade and should be ashamed. If I could I'd hit Triangle right now to execute you for such toxic behavior and I hope you stop, but this is the internet so I doubt you will. Overall don't let this stain your opinons of the game everyone, I've found this to be the best game I've played in years and the quality of it is downright amazing overall. Sure theres imbalances(Looking at you peacekeeper...) but there are ways to counter those imbalances and they may become nerfed to a respectable level. But this game will live on, and so will the fight. Don't throw your blades on the ground for one minor loss, the round is over...but the war rages on.

Oh, and another thing. The page clearly states that it's the faction with the most WAR ASSETS at the end of the beta that should win.

So even by your own rules the vikings should have won.

Closed Beta was not running against the clock.

The purpose of these rounds have not been to entertain us. They are to help prepare the final product. Quite honestly, I think Ubisoft really pushed it by not even giving the developers two full days to prepare the final product after the final Beta close. Offering an Open Beta is a marketing strategy, sure, and there is a reasonable expectation for offered incentives to be honored. However, the real reason we were given the opportunity to play is to test performance on a more realistic scale so that there are less likely to be ugly surprises when the game launches. The priority at this stage is not to make sure you get to play for free a few more hours so that a full turn can be counted. There is probably a long list of priorities that come before that.

Let me stress this again: The game is getting released in two days. Do you really have to question why it might make sense to give developers a little more time to do their job?

    SirCorrino,

As your image states, War Assets "are given to distribute to your Faction to control territories." The end bit is poorly worded, but don't lean on that like a personal injury attorney leans on a crutch. You know that the ultimate purpose is to control territories, and War Assets are used toward that end. If the last turn had only lasted one hour and the majority of the player base in only two of the three factions were asleep, would it be fair to allow that partial turn's results to determine outcomes?

There are plenty of reasons why it makes sense to only count full turns when multiple timezones participate, and there are plenty of reasons to close up shop on a test run whenever it is deemed necessary to produce a polished final product on time.

Maybe, maybe not. But Ubisofts own rules stated that the Faction with the most War Assets "at the end of the Beta" will win. So in that case it has to be fair to count that last turn.
