"How to Play" suggestions
First off I want to say... Wow! Bots can seriously be tough on level 3 - well done, I am stoked to die endless times during the campaign on the highest difficulty and I have actually learned new techniques by fighting level 3 bots, they can be very helpful for becoming a better player.
I don't know how often other players use either the Custom Match or How to Play options but I love them, either for practice or fun games with friends though I am disappointed in how they are set up.
Currently to practice against any hero bot of any level you must do a custom match, no big deal here, it isn't too hard to set a duel match with 99 rounds, each being 10 minutes, low damage, no gear stats/revenge but it could be better (removing the in-between round wait, round length limits, and loading times/screens to change opponents/settings). The 'How to Play (duel)' option currently pits you against your choice of a level 0 or 1 bot faction leader of the hero you choose (If you choose a Viking you fight the Raider, if you choose a knight you fight the knight faction leader, and so on). What makes this mode so amazing is that there is no match timer, no respawn time (or like 2 seconds), and just infinite spawning of yourself/enemy.
I'm sorry this is long winded, but I would love if when setting up a 'How to Play' duel you were given more options such as the following.
- Choose your opponent
- Choose to enable/disable gear stats
- Set damage modifiers (low/normal/high/lethal)
- Bot difficulty 1-3 (instead of current 0-1)
- Potential selection of removing certain attacks (This is a low priority for me but I know others would like it - ex: enemy only guard breaks and attacks from the left)
- Other awesome features would be to change the opponent/difficulty while in the match. Or any other options like damage/stats/revenge.
- Being able to add in additional opponents (any hero/level) at any point during the match as well to practice outnumbered situations
I hope this made sense, let me know if I can clarify better.
