Not saying we don't need this, but the effect you're after can probably be achieved using an AR10 with a short barrel. Largely the same thing without the name.
There's an awful lot of rechambered AR15's out there that might be neat (I'd be kinda interested in .50 Beowulf miself), but they boil down to being exactly the same gun model in-game, and having only slightly different stats. I'd like to see some weirder stuff, like a Kel-Tec RFB, or Denel NTW-20.
Again, not in any way saying the honey badger's a bad idea.
An AR10 is not a substitute for the Q Honey Badger. .300blk and 7.62x51 are not interchangeable be that in capabilities or performance in specific roles they may be employed in. It's designed to replace the the MP5SD. The MP5 Needed to be replaced in certain units within SOCOM by the MK18 as the .9x19mm would ricochet off the interior of cargo ships, as well as being able to be shouldered while going thru the doorways in cargo ships sidways. The MK18 became very popular within SOCOM as the over all length with a suppressor was very compact and it was maneuverable in close quarters. That being said the 5.56x45's terminal ballistics suffers in shorter barrels and drastically more so when subsonic rounds are used. So the MK18 wouldn't be the best replacement for the MP5SD in regards to ballistics and sound reduction. Enter the .300 blackout that maintains terminal ballistics in very short platform hearing safe and within the specified weight requirement. It's a tool for a specific roll that it excels at.
"the Honey Badger, a project of Kevin’s from back in his AAC days that never hit market. That’s changing with Q, though, and Honey Badgers are already in production. With a suppressor-included weight of under 5.5 lbs, this little 300 BLK is specifically intended to be an MP5SD replacement. Q even claims its quieter, and there’s no doubt that 300 BLK offers better ballistics even through the Honey Badger’s shorty 7″ barrel with 1:5 twist." http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...how-range-day/
