    Parry—Should it really be Heavy+Direction?

Right now you can safely attempt parries so long as you have the stamina to feint the parry attempt if you mistime it or were feinted by your opponent.
A successful parry grants you a guard break+heavy punish or more depending on character and the opponent's stamina.
So, should such a strong option really be so safe?

I've been thinking of ways to break the defensive mold this game has at the moment and I think a simple but pretty big change to parry could do it.
Instead of heavy+direction to parry, what if it was light+direction?
This way you are forced to commit to the option and thus encourage more offensive play without necessarily making offense too strong.

If you change it to light you would buff parry

    Atm high elo =
    1. Attack enemy to bait his parry
    2. Feint attack
    3. Enemy pressed heavy to parry but there is no attack to parry so he will perform a slow heavy attack
    4. Parry his heavy attack
    5. Punish

If you change heavy to light it would be way harder to punish parry spammer cuz if they miss they would perform faster light attacks.

only problem is with warlord. as his one of his main mechanics is actually parrying with lights. warlord is one of the few (if not the only one) who does not have a free heavy off of a parry. which feels pretty bad honestly.

    You can feint parry attempts.

Warlord (and every other character) gets an untechable guard break after parry, which in Warlord's case guarantees an overhead heavy.
