    Free hits and guard breaks uncounterable?

    For a while i was excited about this game and obsessed, constantly playing during betas... until i started noticing things that really turned me off the game, for example: if you land a parry the game give you a free window for a guard break, it cannot be countered or dodged. leaving your opponent mashing buttons in hope for anything to happen but nah the game holds your hands and gives you free stuff. This is the biggest mechanic i have issues with but i have also noticed that sometimes when 2 people guard break at the same time, instead of it kind of canceling each other out like its supposed to and both characters going backwards, one persons guard block is completely ignored and overridden. Im pretty sure that ones a bug and could be fixed but the other one seems like a poor choice for mechanic.

    Lastly, the knights flail user has a shield bash that is unblockable unparryable and 75% of the time u cant dodge it because of how wide the hit box is for it. It also gives them a free hit because it staggers you and drains your stamina. so they can literally just spam that and then attack over and over and kill you without breaking a sweat.

    another thing that bothers me is when playing warlord, if i miss a jump overhead due to someone dodging, it pretty much gives them 1-2 free hits. now thats understandable but the thing that isnt understandable is that there is nothing i can do to recover, for example theres a lot of momentum going forward and down, so why cant i immediately use that momentum to roll forward to possibly avoid a counter attack? instead im stuck and literally doomed to give my opponent free hits simply because they timed something well.

    Parries are supposed to punish players. Play more carefully or more thoughtful if you wish not to get parried or just try parrying the enemy back when they attack. The knight heavy's shield bash is not hard to dodge and if you are playing nobushi you can dodge it with the hidden stance. Every character has their strengths and weaknesses. Some characters are better against others and some are worse against others.

    Also you have to consider the risk vs reward in some scenarios. The example you gave when playing as a shield heavy sounded like a risky move vs other characters who can dodge faster. You were punished for risky play and that's how it should be.

    You should never be doing the same thing vs all of the characters. Try mixing it up or changing your approach to a fight when you come into contact with a different hero.

    The number one thing you should do when you lose a fight is not blame the other players or the enemy for being "op," but instead take a step back and look at how you played. Think about what you could have done to win that fight. If you don't think there was anything you could do, take a look at your characters movesets and practice them in 1v1 vs AI or practice some parries, counter guard breaks, and dodges with the practice mode AI.

    you make some good points, i still wish you could use the momentum after a jump attack to roll it would make sense and give me more i can do rather than just sit there, and i actually have tried dodging the shield bash from the shield user, i usually play warlord and i dont have super huge dodges so most of the time im still within the hit box so im not sure what else i can do if i dodge and it doesnt work and its unblockable... do i just hope they dont use it?

    also it doesnt make sense that you are guaranteed a guard break after a parry, the parry is supposed to break combos and give you an opening to attack not guarantee you free stuff

    It is unblockable but it isn't unstoppable. You can light attack that heavy during their unblockable shield bash and they will be hurt and pushed back. You will be slightly pushed back but you wont take damage and you wont be thrown on the floor. Timing is key so make sure to light attack right when they start their shield bash. It might take some practice but it is possible.

    i havent really tried unlocking on and rolling away after being parried, is that possible? there has to be a way to avoid that guard block that cant be countered. If not then that is my biggest issue with this game and really is gamebreaking to me

    Yep. Ive tried everything theres no way to avoid the free hits u get after a parry, complete garbage mechanic leaving me not wanting to play anymore

    this makes most fights so boring now, the only way to really win is just sit there and wait then parry guard block hit and repeat for 9 years

    i had such high hopes for this game, they all came crashing when i realised its simply a battle vs whoever can get the most free hits not whoever uses skill to get around defenses its so stupid and im honestly pissed

    Ummmmmmmmm MAYBE , learn to feint ??? Stop whining about game breaking if you do not know how to play mind games or feint, and you are whining about unstoppable top heavy being dodged ? so you want yourself to be the most powerful BS cahracter ? WL is already OP you just suck at the game, plain and simple,improve your own gameplay, learn how to feint, play mind games with your enemies, read their reactions. You are not good enough to go and claim something is game breaking, good day

    I like people like you, they blatantly show their lack of open mindedness and compassion all in a couple sentences, they say pretty much the same exact things in response to any genioune concern. If a game is built arround skill then why does it have mechanics that literally take away all skill and make you have to sit there and take damage? parries are really not that hard and allowing them to guarantee a heavy hit is completely ridiculous it actually doesnt allow a free heavy hit it gives you enough time but it does give them enough time to guard break them giving you a heavy hit, or even worse, it allows them to just throw you off the edge with no consequence. Even if someone feints you can literally jsut feint the attack you used to try and parry and then just parry again. It does not make sense to literally garauntee a free hit after just a single parrY due to guaranteed guard breaks
