I would really wan't to buy For Honor, but with the current development going into the NAT settings of the game, it's a definate dealbreaker.
There's so many people with Strict NAT settings, who have tried (including me) changing firewall settings, port forwarding - and updating network adapter drivers to no avail.
There's even reports of people playing the Closed Beta of For Honor, where as their NAT settings was Green, and now in Open Beta, so close to launch, it's suddenly Strict(red).
This is a major concern, and I really wonder why such a thing can even exist in 2017 - Hell it haven't really been a problem for the past 10 years in games - The last game i remember having host/client problems was Warcraft 3, where some people with strict firewall settings couldn't host games... I wonder if it's lazyness from coders or server capacity/money issue, making the individual players host their own games and therefore not all can connect to and from them.
My other concern is the multiplayer part. I cannot get in a party with a friend - doesn't matter who invites, it simply fails. Probably due to the abovementioned "feature".
This problem needs to be adressed by Ubisoft. It would be a massive letdown if all consumers needs to have their router/firewall settings looked at.
- 90% of people can't do that themselves
Just my 5 cent thoughts on not spending my 60 Euro on this game - until fixed at least.
Same here, if I can't get this sorted out by the end of this Beta I'm not going to buy. Which totally blows, because I love the game. I've tried everything I've read to try to fix it but nothing seems to work. I'm no stranger to this sort of troubleshooting, and I think it's ridiculous for customers to potentially have to go through a process like this to get the game's main selling point to be fully functional.
Same. I tried everything on closed and open beta. Still strict NAT while I haven't any problem with other multiplayer games. 2 days to release and I'm thinking what to do. Maybe i buy on Steam and refund game if problem will not be solved by Ubi. Because i'm sure it's problem on their side.
Yep, I'm having the same issue and so are thousands of others. Add in all the people on a shared network who won't be able to play at the same time. As I've posted in other threads the fact this is even an issue in a game today is an embarrassment for Ubisoft. I wouldn't be surprised if gaming news outlets pick up on this story very soon after release and a flood of angry customers appear. I love the game but I can't play it due to NAT restrictions, won't be purchasing unless this is fixed before release.
same here. tried everything. spent time learning how to get to router settings, open ports. open ports on firewall, DMZ, etc... tried all the fixes, yet my nat is still red. only 2v2 and somtimes 1v1 works. can't join a 4v4. i really want to buy this game but if the beta is any indicator of how things are gonna be when live i'm gonna have to pass Never had any problems regarding internet connection on any other game before.
Hi UbiFancy. Thanks for the reply. Are Ubisoft looking into this issue? Cause it seems to be loads upon loads of players with the same problem.Originally Posted by UbiFancy Go to original post
