no one has mentioned the Open Beta? | Forums

had an email from Ubi the other day talking of an open beta with a new province!

cant really understand why they would have an open beta so close to launch but any details coming on this?

All open beta's from Ubisoft have been a week or 2 before launch of the game.
As far as i am concerned it has only 2 reasons:

1. To test the servers to see if they can handle the load
2. Free advertising for the game

Yep. I would further add that any beta (open or closed) released no more than a month before game launch is for those exact purposes. In the case of GRW, the closed beta (invite only) was a small load test and the open beta (available to all) will be a bigger load test.

Oh the game hub in Xbox One live there are videos and screenshots from the Open Beta been there for over a week, I too got the email and am eagerly waiting but how come people have got it a week early and yep I mean open because I played the closed.

There is no open beta yet, for nobody. And no, there are no videos or screenshots from any open beta on Xbox Live. That's all stuff from the closed beta which is fine because there was no NDA.

People have been posting screenshots of emails they got from Ubisoft following their Closed Beta survey confirming Open Beta. The when is still to be determined.

Yep, unfortunately.

A proper beta for balancing/tweaking/adding/removing stuff should be at least 6 months before potential release.

Yeah, only early access can serve this purpose (when done right).
