I really think For Honor should allow players to rebind their controller keys.
Well, the default key setting is okay, but I don't think it can make every player satisfy. I don't know about the other version, but the PC version allows players to rebind all the keys with keyboard and mouse. So with keyboard and mouse, a player will be able to focus on guard and reflect guard break at the same time. And for a controller user, you cannot, because you only have one right thumb. Or maybe someone likes to use B/Circle to dodge and they will feel uncomfortable with the default key setting. And allowing us to rebind the keys can avoid all these issues.
So please allow us to rebind our controller keys, so we can play the game the way we wanted.
YES PLEASE! Let us rebind the controller mappings!
I have to add, that the developers deserve a huge thanks for natively supporting Dualshock 4, as 99% of other PC games do not. So thank you for that, but to make it playable and comfortable, please, allow us the custom mappings in game, I really do not want to use 3rd party software for this as I do now and it messes up the menu controls and is overall not satisfying.
P.S. For Honor subreddit is full of these requests, so hopefuly developers will read it here at least.
Well, there is a legacygamepads.ini file that allows you to remap the keys, but it takes some time to learn and test, and for the xbox360/1 controller users, they will even need to disable Xinput to use this feature. And I don't think the console versions can even do anything. A feature built in game will be much better, and I think it is not that hard to implement.
So Ubisoft, please make it happen in launch or at least in a week after launch.
If you are on PS4, you can do it in the PS OS, settings - accessibility, button configuration or something like that.
Its quite annoying because you will have to change it back everytime you switch games, but at least its something.
I play with L1 and L2 switched, but the main one is switching Square (guardbreak) to R3 (right thumbstick) its makes GB counters way easier since your thumb is already on it.
But yeah, this should be in game... unsure why its not.
Oh wait yes I do.
Because Ubisoft.
