Long-term Faction War suggestion.
I'm fairly certain not a lot of people have suggested this, but I'm gonna take a stab at it (hey, I made a pun) nonetheless.
To this moment, even though Faction War makes a lot of sense to keep players occupied in a perpetual conflict over territory, the game maps and world map are at best, irrelevant.
My suggestion to Ubi is to include a number of maps that corresponds to the World Map areas. For instance, if the contested area in the World Map I'm interacting with is a mountainous region between the Viking and Knight lands, make it so the matches taking place in this area use a "Mountain Fort" map design. If instead I deploy war assets in a flat valley along the Samurai frontline, use a specifically made map for this type of region.
This will both increase map variety (and it's already evident in the beta stages that new maps will be an *absolute necessity* as time passes) but also bolster the idea that the lands we fight to conquer will be visually represented in a more consistent manner. It will make players care a bit more when they remember specific maps and their locations on the World Map.
I also believe that the maps in this game aren't a nightmare to balance (unlike, say, RTS multiplayer maps). But if it makes for more realism, or even more immersion I wouldn't mind it if invading territories closer to a faction's main stronghold, used maps that favour the defending faction.
This is just a simple cosmetic suggestion that I believe would unite the World Map to multiplayer games in a way players would enjoy experiencing. Ideally (in my dream version of the game) the whole World Map gets modelled and each division gets its very own level map, but I wouldn't bet on something like this ever happening.
At any rate, would anyone else enjoy having a World Map we can actually see in more detail, and at the same time bolster the Faction War mode of the game?
