Normally these posts make me laugh because it always ends up being someone that doesnt understand the basic mechanics of the game, let alone the character they are talking about. That being said this thread is quite the opposite and i find myself actually agreeing with quite a few of the things you mention. In reference to what you were talking about with your guardbreak doing stamina damage, if you do a forward through after your GB it actually does do stam damage. I completely agree with you on the light attacks being blocked, the recovery frames are insane for us. additionally not only is it hard enough to get a 4 hit attack chain, but all they have to do to stop it is simply block one of your light attacks during the chain. this makes it extremely difficult and damn near impossible vs a higher skill player. One thing they changed was in the closed beta you could completely miss all your attacks and as long as you just chain 4 together you would enter dauntless. I understand it was not intended to be like that but that could possibly be something to go back to for us. also we do have what could be considered an unblockable in our parry, i dont mean simply attacking right after but if you hit light attacks as soon as the parry hits, you will hit them with your left axe as you push them away, then you also have time to get in an attack before they recover. All this being said I am still able to win at high levels of play but like others have mentioned it requires playing like you are not a berserker.
thx, and yes i'd agree, berserker still CAN kill high-skill players, but you have to play super defensive and nothing like a berserker and all your core mechanics are negated.

It's not directly misleading, but it just sounds a bit like it's ONLY the berserker who has that problem. Just wanted to point out that that goes for everyone else too. That said, you can actually use it to your advantage by doing a forward dodge without an attack, then immidiately doing a side attack, since some people will be expecting the attack to come from the top. This is especially nice against wardens who can use their crushing counter to punish people who try to do forward dodge attacks.
i wanted to highlight that we have TWO that are basically the same ... its less about the guard-direction, but more about the fact that those two abilities are almost redundant... yes one is faster than the other, but they are both very predictable and slow-ish.

Greetings,
iam Marcus son of Roland. In the open and closed beta me too was devoted to the path of the beast and had many glorious battles in the name of the Altvater Odin! And as much as i loved the path.. What you my brothers and sister write is true. My personal bane was the free block grab which i was heavily punished for while doing even the most basic of attacks. I will continue to fight for glory and honor.. But if the gods hear my plea... Give us the power back that was meant to be ours. Lets meet and feast in Valhalla one day my brothers and sister. FOR THE GODS!

While I agree we need some tweaks, the two most under-utilized, and potentially powerful moves we have at higher level (imho) are dodge into GB into zone attack which as a guaranteed 2 strikes (sometimes 3) and feint into forward light rush. The first is my bread an butter against both shield classes, I don't think I'd ever win duels against skilled opponents without it. Just throwing it out there....
EDIT: Our triple heavy is worthless past renown 1 or 2 as EVERYBODY knows how to punish it, most classes BETWEEN hits.
zone attack (even after a GB) is VERY risky as skilled players know it and will ALWAYS have the chance to parry the last hit. and its damage isnt that great either, so its not really worth risking it imo.
not sure what you mean by "dodge into GB" as we dont have such a move... you can feint into GB obviously, but GB after a dodge leaves you open for counters as the recovery after a dodge is quite long... so they will get you before your GB is done most of the time.
what does work is side-dodge-attack -> heavy feint -> GB ... this has been quite good so far, but to utilize the GB you need a wall or ledge neerby
the tripple heavy is truely useless... the last hit would need to be unblockable at the least to make it attractive... but i'd rather they make all top-heavy finishers unblockable.
berserker can be almost completely countered just by blocking, which is some dumb design for an offensive raging dual-wielding machine.

Completely agree, gb into zone is a great tool. zerkers are completely capable you just have to play smart and mind tricks are a must. another thing i found that works great is after feigning a heavy i instantly do a light and it almost always hits. then i'll heavy cancel dash, do not spin attack do another dash cancel and just kinda dance around with feignts. with proper stam management you can really confuse your opponent.
yeah as multiple times mentioned: berserker can still kill people, but only by playing a role that doesnt use his core mechanic... and THAT is my biggest gripe.
why have mechanics when they are completely negated by blocking... BLOCKING
dashing around a lot will get you killed in high level play as GB counters dodging hard... and good players will get you if you keep dodging around too much

Agreed mate, the DO NOT SPIN unless positive you're going to land is huge too, I see way too many zerkers opening with spin attack, its a god-awful open.
agreed... opening with ANY light attack (as a berserker) is asking to be ripped apart.
sadly our side-dodge-attack is also the slowest side-dodge attack in the game as far as i have tested it...
so be VERY careful against orochis and PKs that are also using it a lot, they will ALWAYS hit you first.

Btw I meant to ask, I didn't want to experiment in a 1v1 through raw attrition lol, but can you deflect an unblockable? I.e. Raiders side unblockable?
NO you cannot...
unblockables are also un-deflectable ... i've tested this for over an hour with a friend and against bots. no matter how you try to time it, it doesnt work.
unblockables need to be dodged or parried.
