Using Steam version. Uplay overlay doesn't work? | Forums

Can't seem to get the steam overlay or uplay overlay to work. Deactivated steam overlay in hopes uplay overlay will work, but it didn't.

Can't accept friend's invite to join as a result of that. Alt +tab to desktop and accepting invites from uplay chat window doesn't do anything either.

Any one knows any fixes for this?

Can you confirm if you have the latest version Uplay Client fully installed?

It may be that you only have the basic Uplay functionality installed with the game through Steam. This may not be as up to date as the independent Uplay Client download from our site here: http://uplay.ubi.com/

I have found the culprit. It was FRAPS. After disabling FRAPS, i was able to use the Uplay overlay again.

I had no issues with Uplay overlay during Ghost Recon Wildland's closed beta last weekend with FRAPS on. But back then the overlay was still the old overlay. I noticed that there's a new design now to the overlay, so I am guessing that there was an update to Uplay this past week and it somehow clashes with FRAPS and made the overlay for Uplay stopped working.

I reinstalled it and that seemed to work. Thanks, i think the client could use a "Check for updates" button just in case.
