    The truth about helicopter controls

So I'm seeing a lot of rage towards the controls on helicopter and I just wanted to make it known that they worked really well so long as you were using a console controller

I found the best way to manoeuvre was too increase acceleration, maintain trigger pressure on the throttle, tilt forward into a dive and then release the thumb stick back to zero. As long as you maintained throttle pressure, the helo would continue to accelerate forward at level with the axis of advance, leaving you to use the movement stick for steering and height adjustments.

It was difficult for the first 5 minutes, but then after you stop overthinking it, Helos became super easy to control. Honestly it was for me at least one of the easiest systems to master compared to counterparts such as GTA ect.

I'm all for the addition of strafe controls and a crosshair, but otherwise I honestly think on consoles, helicopter controls should remain untouched. PC would likely be a totally different story as console ports never translate well.

Yes the controls on PC are bad .
You take off then you, press forward, and the chopper pitches down !
Also the car or motorcycle controls too sensitive.
I would also like to be able adjust camera distance from vehicle ,

Yeah, pitch forward into a dive wilst maintaining thrust. Then release the foward pitch to level whilst still maintaining thrust. You will continue foward level movement at an accelerated speed

When I released pitch forward the chopper was slowing down to a walking pase.
I had to hold 2 buttons in order going fast enough .

I definitely did not like the helicopter controls in the game even with the xbox controller.

I was able to fly and used it as the primary vehicle but without tail rotor controls it just does not work well. Even if they would just add a second control set that gave more normal controls to the rotation without causing roll. You should be able to stay in a level hover and rotate. Also the pitch controls were just off. No way to use the guns with any kind of accuracy and control never mind having no reticle.

Lets just say that this needs a lot of work to make it driveable and fun instead of a chore.

the only thing I wish they would add for the XB1 controller is mapping the two bumpers to assist in rotation. Sometimes it was a real pain to get the helicopter to rotate in the direction you were trying to get it to go. Otherwise I had zero issues with the control scheme.

No one said they weren't easy to master, but a huge amount of people have said the controls are still freaking retar***.

You have no fine control over the chopper, you can't strafe the chopper which takes out half the benefit of using a helo.

As a console player (PS4) I'm going to have to disagree with you. The controls were simple, on that much we agree, but the control scheme that has been adopted is incredibly simplistic and greatly restricts the amount of precision you have over both the helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.

I appreciate that some people want simple controls that they can pick up and play - and I'm all for the inclusion of two control schemes for aircraft to appease all players - but I would much rather something a little more tricky that gives me a full range of movement. I really enjoyed the beta, but the aircraft controls have really got me questioning a day one purchase now, as I know they are going to frustrate me.
