But I stand corrected, I have mine setup for automatic download and I havent been on in a few days. Just checked and it is indeed fully installed (40.5 gigs)

i just got my Preload to start a few hours ago.

That is not the preload date. I have already talked to Xbox support about it, That is the day they are "releasing" the game to be played, although the Ubisoft servers will not go live until midnight on the 7th. Xbox preload is already in effect, as I have it downloaded already after buying it lol
