The game is generally fun (when it works right), but there are a couple of characters that are so OP that they suck the fun out of the game. These characters, mixed with the connectivity problems has me seriously questioning whether or not I'm going to buy a game that was a sure thing in Alpha Test. These Characters constantly win, and its not because the other player is better (I played a few games where I got flat out whooped by guys who were just better, no excuses), it's because their character is better, and played a certain way, exploiting certain moves, they become almost unbeatable. It quickly takes the game from a fun battle of skill and wit to an exercise in frustration
If you playing a Nobushi who knows what they are doing, its almost impossible to win, they are just as bad as the peacekeepers (who i already mentioned in another thread). The nobushi are way to fast for the amount of damage their moves do. The rushing up (forward doge and attack) move is bad enough, because its so quick its hard to block or dodge, and it has so much range that unless your a really long character, you'll have no chance of rebuttal, but at least that move will always only hit up, which gives you a decent chance of defending. But the retreat moves are even worse, as they can come form either side, are just as quick, do way too much damage and gives the Nobushi the advantage of being away from her opponent all in one move. That retreat move does more damage the Raiders unblock-able swing, or the Conquerors single charge shot hit, but is way quicker and takes much less stamina than any of those moves. Throw in the ridiculously quick unblock-able jump kick, that not only opens you up but drains your stamina in the process, Something that no other push move does (The Conqueror, The Warden, and the Warlord all have push moves, and none of them drain stamina) and you got a major problem.
I played a Nobushi who did a 3 hit combo, that was the, rush in move(forward dodge and attack) a light attack, and a rush out move(back dodge and attack) that when totaled with the bleed damage, took more than half of my health, and cost the nobushi a little more than a 3rd of of her stamina, which is just ridiculous. The Nobushi attacks need to nerfed to about 1/3rd to 1/2 power if she is going to be that fast. I feel that she would work great as character who had the attributes she has now, but with a catch or having to land much more blows than other characters. As of right now, she has most of the strengths of every class in the game.
Every Class has inherent strengths and weaknesses. Assassins are quick, and have dodge counters, but don't block well, take damage on block, and generally have low health. Vanguards have no particular strengths, but no weaknesses either. Heavy Characters have strong attacks, Good Blocks, but are slow and can't dodge worth beans. The Nobushi is as fast as an Assassin Class character, has the power of a Heavy Class Character, has the static block of a Vanguard Character, has the most range in game, and move set that constantly move her away from her opponent while delivering major damage. The only downside is that she tends to run out of stamina quick, which is easily managed by people who know how to play with her. Who thought this was a good Idea?
I completely agree with what you have stated here, I have been playing for about 10 hours. I have definitely noticed that Nobushi (or the Samurai in general) and the Peacemaker are played more then any other class/fraction. I feel like they need to make it so that if you do moves consecutively that is scales down in damage. For example for a Peacemaker to double tap X or whatever it is and make me bleed twice and then run away and just watch me bleed to death is complete and utter BS. Some thing with the Nobushi, plus I understand that class is a "Hard" difficulty to play but so is the Berserker and the Nobushi has like twice as many movesets which is stupid if they are the smae difficultly. I think all together the Samurai in General need a big nerf, and the Peacemaker needs to be more balanced as you can pretty much use the same moveset twice and kill someone without trying. The game is lots of fun but with the amount of BS there is it makes me not wanna spend 60$ for it like at all.
I've actually only had 1 frustrating match with a Peacekeeper. It wasn't terrible, and it was close, but the dude kept spamming light attacks, which I never bothered to notice I guess. Other than that one match every Nobushi, and Peacekeeper I've fought has lost to me (Warden). I can see why it'd frustrating to deal with - especially the Nobushi because of the ridiculous range, but I'd advise learning how to block, and bait them out.
In the end, if you git gud at beating Peacekeepers and Nobushi consistently while they're 'op,' then come the nerf you'll be able to lay them out no problem. And overall, it'll help you build your skills better and faster.
I don't agree with your conclusion. I never said the was unavoidable, i just said that it does more than any other unblock-able push move in the game. Every other unblock-able push move pushes you back and leave you open to one light attack. That Kick takes away half of your stamina, pushes you back and leaves you open for a second attack. Yes you can side step it, just like any other unblock-able push maneuver in the game, but it still more difficult to avoid than most other attacks in the game (that rings true for all unblock-able push moves, simply because they are unblock-able), especially if thrown in during the middle of a combo. But the main point i was making is that no other unblock-able push move in game grants as much benefit as that one move does. It is ridiculously quick, compared to the Wardens, or the Warlords push, on par with the conquerors move, but none of those take away stamina.Originally Posted by Velkamit Go to original post

They mix quick attacks with retreats attack with jump kicks, and it's really difficult. Keep in mind this is an open beta, most people have only been playing for about a day or two. Once people have been playing for a week or two it's going to become a major problem. Its already a problem.
And as far as peacekeepers goes, i only ran into two that were really good and they were absolutely impossible to beat (and i win most, but definitely not all, the time ), but even the mediocre ones have moves that grant them way more damage per move than any other character. The grab and stab for example, but throw in the dodge counter + stab (no other assassin gets a second free hit from a successful dodge counter, and it counts and hurts like a strong hit) and you got problems. Although backstepping and and swinging does work well against the peacekeepers with the warden.
Actually 90% of the "balance" posts are like this...Originally Posted by Velkamit Go to original post

Unfortunately...
I Never ever said that it is unavoidable, just that it is unblock-able which it technically is. And Balance is about just that, balance. Meaning that results are the same across the board for similar moves. Every other push attack results in a light attack to the face. The Kick push attack results in losing half of your stamina and a light attack to the face. How is that balanced?Originally Posted by Vaetherian Go to original post
Nobushi is easy to beat... All the class does is spam light attacks... Nobushi tries to attack you... dodge it, and then light attack. Rinse and repeat. Nobushi is an in your face, go go go, character. You will never out play a Nobushi by being aggressive, so instead play defensive and counter attack.
