Samurai balance feels just right

We hope you've had a great first day in the Open Beta. We know it's still early days, but we wanted some of your initial impressions on the character balance. In addition to voting, please share your thoughts/opinions in this thread below the poll as well.

Just small "extra" feedback, because the Samurais are my faction, so I know a bit about them.
First about "Orochi" beeing claimed too OP.
Well, it has its strength and weaknesses. But it has quite few "unbreakables".
It's so lame, if someone writes "Orochi OP" if I deliberately, did exactly SAME combination every single round and won a duel 3:0.
If I did Storm Rush, followed by double top light and a GB, when I do EXACTLY THE SAME next time, You have 3 options to block me and repay me twice us much (light class, duh)!
And I will be without any unbreakable hit or block (cause it's extremely short). So don't blame me, that You can't recognize moves of the enemy.
There is a difference of "champion beeing too good" and "my knowledge about champion is too small".
The hero is balanced well if it has it good sides, but it is counterable if You know how to do it.
And out of all Samurais, the Orochi seems most balanced. If I meet some skilled player in a duel, and he knows how to defend against me, he can easily reply and rip me apart. It's all about the skills, etc. Majority of them ending up with final round at 2:2.
On the otherside, I don't feel Kensei or Nobushi balanced the same way. They feel waaaay to easy for me. Their weakness is either so marginal, or it's so hard to actually expoit them, that I don't find it funny winning all duels 3:0.
I'm strongly for balancing all heroes the same way. Give them something which will make them good and unique, but on the other side it HAS TO be followed by something which can be a really their achilles heel. Orochi has such heel, Kensei and Nobushi... Well, I don't see it yet.
Thanks!
Still feel that kensei doesnt have the necessary tools. Once you get to people that counter 100% of GBs, and parry / deflect all attacks, you really don't have anything to do. You can do the heavy faints, but everyone has that (and while difficult, its not impossible to block, as faint happens at beginning of hit, and parry at end).
Helmsplitter (dodge forward + light ) always comes from the top, and while fast, it can be easily parried on reflex. Same with Swiftstrike (dodge side + light), always from opposite direction of dodge.
Getting the 3 hit combo off happens reliably only on GB, and even then, unless the opponent is taking risks, he can dodge backwards, and dont have to deal with the top to side mindgames.
The buff was good, but if you don't land your hits, the damage doesn't really matter.
I am utterly shocked by these ridiculous results for Kensei and Orochi. Kensei has way too many unblockables to be anything but overpowered, and Orochi's overpowered manner comes more from how insanely difficult it is for anyone other than professions to deflect, giving only those people unblockables for him. Unblockables are just a huge stain on an otherwise balanced game that hurts beginners and mid-road players
orochi does too much damage for how fast the attacks are, I think its the top heavy attack thats lightning fast but also does almost 2 bars of hp damage? how is that fair when a raider top heavy (one of the slowest characters in the game) does 2 bars of hp damage but is like 2 or 3 times slower? too much damage for the speed, nerf either the speed, or the damage. (probably nerf damage since hes suppose to be fast?) for nobushi I think damage over time poison should be lowered and also damage over time should not kill characters as the last hit.
Don't forget nobushi doing a heavy attacks worth of damage on a move thats as fast as a light attack that also inflicts bleed which also leads into them dealing more damage.Originally Posted by Greengrunt Go to original post
Bleed is a ridiculouslly stupid mechanic, I'de be fine if bleed only worked till 1 HP Bar left, then it stopped working, so enemies wouldnt be able to just spam the hell out of it and win easily.
The only issue I have with the samurais is with the Orochi, to me their blocking. I understand their setup but to me their blocking should be faster since they're not stance based. I don't like how you basically have to hold them into a stance to block, it should be more of timing and responsive then hold and wait. IMO... as far as op classes they all have ups and downs as other have said and just learning to dodge or block to disrupt their combos.
