    FPS drops when in combat.

Greetings. I've jumped into the open beta in hopes of making up my mind about buying this or not. The game runs at 60 FPS on high settings most of the time, except for those crucial moments when I'm locked onto an opponent and battling. FPS drop to 30 or even lower when I'm exchanging hits which makes combat kind of unbearable. I find it strange as, when I'm slashing mobs, frame drops are extremely rare, and never lower than 40. I've noticed this can be related to using a bluetooth controller, however, I do not have a controller around the house.

Video drivers are up to date. On high, the game uses less than half of my video memory. I tried getting shadows down to medium and using a less powerful form of AA, but that changed nothing. Any feedback would be appreciated. Below, you'll find my specs.

    Intel i5-4460, 3.2GHZ
    Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 Mobo
Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 G1 Gaming, 4 GB Vram
    8 GB DDR3 RAM

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there, SpawnOfTzeentch,

    Welcome!

    Can you try the following?:

Open your Control Panel, and make sure to uninstall anything which is related to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.

Once this is done, please download and install the following files :

    I have the same issues

I have a RX 480 with 16 GB of ram. I've been playing and the same happens to me. I have visual Studio and Direx updated due I'm a developer. Even with the graphic settings at minimum, the problem stills there.

I want to leave this feedback due it's an open beta, an it's an optimisation problem that needs to be solved. It happens when attacking or receiving an attack.

I tried it. Installed, resintalled, restarted my PC. The first fight went smooth, but afterwards, things began to behave the same. From what I could tell, instead of every fight, now it stutters in the majority of fights. That being said, I had a 3v1 fight where there were no frame drops whatsoever.

The occasional frame drop when fighting a crowd of mobs are there, however in 90% of the time, it's 58-60. From what I could tell, screen effects (capturing points, levelling up) seem to be related to frame drops. However, I can't for the life of me explain the erratic behaviour that happens when logged on. I know for a fact that my processor isn't very good anymore, so might it be the CPU that's doing this?

Hey, I originally thought I had a problem similar to yours but mine seem specific to my controller. I was using a bluetooth controller to play and it was causing fps drops/screen freezes during impacts. If you're using a bluetooth controller too I recommend trying to wire it or turning it off and using your mouse and keyboard to see if that helps. \

If you're in the same boat as me here's the link to the thread I started about my issue.

I'm glad you found the cause of your issue, but, as I stated in my initial post, I do not have any controller whatsoever inside the house. Have fun with the beta!

As the beta ends soon, I'll go ahead and say that I've fiddled with all the graphical settings and the issue is still there. The game runs smooth outside of being locked onto a target, regardless of mode (I got around to playing all of them). I'm slightly disappointed in the lack of response, but I do realise that 3 million people were playing, so, other priorities must have popped up. Unfortunately, as playing the game in this state gets frustrating really quickly and streaming/recording is clearly out of the question, it'll be a pass from me.
