Unfortunately mine starts minute one. Sometimes the stutter is every few minutes. Sometimes it happens a couple times a minute. I can run every other game I play on max settings with no stutter like this.

I play this game at maxed out 2560x1440 settings (with v-sync and triple buffering enabled on a 25" 60 Hz display) and seem to recall that performance was very good during the closed beta. However, since the open beta the game's performance has been... to put it bluntly... abysmal and that follows on through to the final release build unfortunately. While I was using the early v378.xx drivers for the beta, I am now using the latest Game-Ready v378.66 WHQL driver and performance is still poor.

To elaborate, the game just never feels smooth to play to play - panning the camera around the character is depressingly jerky and movement feels very stuttery - and MSI Afterburner's on-screen display shows why; the framerate constantly fluctuates between 52 and 60 fps and never remains at 60 fps. In fact, even if I look straight up at the skybox the framerate still doesn't hold 60 fps. Nor does it hold 60 fps on the Low preset. Something is clearly very wrong with this game, at least on my system as the benchmark in the closed beta showed a very high average framerate and a minimum above 60 fps as you'd expect on a GTX 1080 but that doesn't carry over into the actual game itself. GPU usage is between 50 and 60% and CPU is even lower, around 40-50% so neither component is being stressed by this game yet it cannot hold a locked 60 fps. You know something is very wrong if you look up at the sky and your framerate is still moving between 52 and 60 fps!!!

Why does it act this way though?

Now I did notice that one of my CPU cores is maxed at 100% with the other hovering around the 30% mark which seemed odd. DSOG did a performance analysis (http://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performa...mance-analysis) and pointed this out as a bug. After Google-ing the issue, I found a YouTube video that suggested the fix for this stuttering issue was to press Alt-Enter to switch to the desktop, open up Task Manager and then change the priority of ForHonor.exe from Normal to BelowNormal. Finally, uncheck Core 7 under Affinity for ForHonor.exe. Lo and behold, this fixes the horrid performance and the game then ran very smoothly for 99.99% of the time. It changed the game from being a sub-par experience into a very enjoyable one. The problem is that I have to do this every time I play the game.

Research seems to suggest that this issue has been present since the beta, as many people have reported it, but it remains unfixed. Now I play loads of games on my PC and this is the only one of the current batch I'm playing (which includes Watch_Dogs 2, Battlefield 1, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Hitman, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 7 and Sniper Elite 4 among others) that performances this way so the problem is evidently with the game not my system. The question is will the developers ever fix it?
I have this problem too. Oddly enough, just changing For Honor's process priority from normal to high seemed to (at least mostly) fix it. Could we get an answer from Ubi whether this is an actual bug with the game, and if so, is there any info on a fix?

    Specs:
    i7 3770K, OC'd @ 4.3 GHz
    MSI GTX 1080
    16 GB RAM
    Controller is wired
Game is installed on F drive if that has any effect.

Same problem as anybody else thus far.
Since I use a Quad Core setup i can't use the fix with disabling your 8th core (makes sense, doesn't it) so i contacted the Support (AFTER Updating every Driver possible i found for my CPU, GPU, USB and whatnot).
The response was more than dissappointing with the usual "Your PC still uses old Drivers" answer.
Sure enough im pissed about it, but with further research i found the following post:

I have not tried it just yet, but will Post a reply if it worked or not.

    Also:

What i found strange was, whenever the Stuttering starts, my RAM usage seems to go down and instead the usage of my Page File increases. Maybe starting the research there could lead to another possible cause of this issue.

I played for about 2 hours and had not any major issues with Frame stuttering thus far. It is still there somewhat (FPS fluctuates somewhat between 60 and 59 frames) But you don't really notice it except when paying your whole attention to it.

Appearently following this guide to reinstall the C++ runtime had an effect of some sort: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...Libraries.html

I suggest anybody who has micro stutters in this game to give this a try.

If it worked for you please let the rest of the community know

EDIT: After my 3rd Hour the Microstutter came back. So it has not fixed it, but seemed to delay it for alittle time. Still problem persists

The new patch confirms to cripple all Intel's I7 extreme series 8 core CPUs 38xx, 58xx, 6850xx etc or trigger memory leaks on others rigs, which cause the constant stuttering you talked about

The only way to "fix it" is to disable one of CPU core after you launch the game, worked for me

thx for Ubitards amazing skill and QA quality. 2 weeks passed, they probably didn't even aware the problem let alone a fix

Same problem also, started happening yesterday and I managed to fix it lowering one setting from the Ambient occlusion.
But then today its doing the exact same thing with the same settings, really starting to piss me off.
It only happens when my character moves, and only my character specifically, spectating is completely smooth. (its like their asking me to afk farm).

    Windows 10
    AMD FX-8320
    GTX 1070
    16GB RAM

I highly doubt its my hardware, and I can run harder games easier than For Honor...
Disabling cores does not help at all for me.

So I figured out the problem, the game seems to run smoothly when my controller is not plunged in or the DS4 program not running.

I still had some frame stutters even after doing the CPU 7 and priority change. However, I had a friend that gave me a super helpful link. Basically, it is what this guy recommends having for your NVIDIA Control Panel settings. I set mine to his, and with the CPU 7 uncheck in affinity and the priority to below normal it works without any stutter. If you guys are having issues, until Ubi will address this, this might help. Unfortunately each driver update can reset it so needs to be done after each update. Good luck.

I have your same cpu at 4.4 gh with a 1070, and I can assure you that even with 3 cores the game runs very smoothly, you should try.

Sadly, for now, it seem to be the only solution.
