I'm getting the same thing, constant stuttering with no apparent cause. Occasionally times up with attack and sprinting animations, but also occurs whilst stationary. Armour parts are also flapping erratically.

Hi CBeet! Are you using a BlueTooth controller by any chance? This may cause frame drops while being hit.

I use mouse and keyboard and the stutters aren't just when being hit, as I stated.

I have a relatively decent gaming PC (i7-4770K @ 4.0 GHz, 16 GB, EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, Windows 10 Pro v1607) and have played the game since the closed beta. I play this game at maxed out 2560x1440 settings (with v-sync and triple buffering enabled on a 25" 60 Hz display) and seem to recall that performance was very good during the closed beta. However, since the open beta the game's performance has been... to put it bluntly... abysmal and that follows on through to the final release build unfortunately. While I was using the early v378.xx drivers for the beta, I am now using the latest Game-Ready v378.66 WHQL driver and performance is still poor.

To elaborate, the game just never feels smooth to play to play - panning the camera around the character is depressingly jerky and movement feels very stuttery - and MSI Afterburner's on-screen display shows why; the framerate constantly fluctuates between 52 and 60 fps and never remains at 60 fps. In fact, even if I look straight up at the skybox the framerate still doesn't hold 60 fps. Nor does it hold 60 fps on the Low preset. Something is clearly very wrong with this game, at least on my system as the benchmark in the closed beta showed a very high average framerate and a minimum above 60 fps as you'd expect on a GTX 1080 but that doesn't carry over into the actual game itself. GPU usage is between 50 and 60% and CPU is even lower, around 40-50% so neither component is being stressed by this game yet it cannot hold a locked 60 fps. You know something is very wrong if you look up at the sky and your framerate is still moving between 52 and 60 fps!!!

Why does it act this way though?

Now I did notice that one of my CPU cores is maxed at 100% with the other hovering around the 30% mark which seemed odd. DSOG did a performance analysis (http://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performa...mance-analysis) and pointed this out as a bug. After Google-ing the issue, I found a YouTube video that suggested the fix for this stuttering issue was to press Alt-Enter to switch to the desktop, open up Task Manager and then change the priority of ForHonor.exe from Normal to BelowNormal. Finally, uncheck Core 7 under Affinity for ForHonor.exe. Lo and behold, this fixes the horrid performance and the game then ran very smoothly for 99.99% of the time. It changed the game from being a sub-par experience into a very enjoyable one. The problem is that I have to do this every time I play the game.

Research seems to suggest that this issue has been present since the beta, as many people have reported it, but it remains unfixed. Now I play loads of games on my PC and this is the only one of the current batch I'm playing (which includes Watch_Dogs 2, Battlefield 1, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Hitman, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 7 and Sniper Elite 4 among others) that performances this way so the problem is evidently with the game not my system. The question is will the developers ever fix it?

At my laptop the game was almost unplayable...

    6700K (Desktop OC @ 4.2Ghz)
    GTX 980m
    16 GB DDR4 Ram

When I followed the instructions of the youtube vid the performance stabilized. Where I had frames in the Bench going from 25 to 145 I now have a consistent 60 frames with some drops unto lower 50s at extreme.

Funny thing is, that this problem seemed to be already existing in the division and got reported in this game multiple times, yet all we hear is "bluetooth controller" ... Ubi pls.

GPU GTX 980 Ti Driver 378.66
    CPU i7 4790K 4.0 Ghz
    RAM 32gig DDR3 Corsair
    OS Win10 64bit pro
    NO Bluetooth
    Mouse+Kb = Framedrops
    Xbox controller wired= Framedrops

Getting the frame drops from time to time, Game runs fluid at times but acts up in battles wich makes it really hard to play and enjoy..

Im having the same issues, plays smooths for about 20mins then starts the pulsating lag.

    NVIDIA MSI GTX 970 x2
    i7 4770
    MSI GD65
    NO BLUETOOTH

only thing that fixes it is restarting the game. Any ideas Ubisoft?
