Most people out there aren't going to want to hear this because the majority of the player-base (there's at least 3 a match) plays them; but the faster characters need a nerf. These characters are just unfun to play against. Now before you get out your pitchforks and flamberges to run me through with, hear me out. There's nothing wrong with making a character that you have to play differently against and infact it makes the game much more enjoyable, and i do agree these characters should be that variety. But when you make them so strong that unless your playing as one of them, something as simple as missing a single fast attack should get you pushed back into a corner is unfair. No other character can do this, punish a mistake thats not even a mistake. You missed because they dodged and now you're going to pay for daring to hit one of them with an utterly ridiculous amount of health for how much health they have and fast they are.People will cry "get good" and "learn to adapt" but i am good (KD is averaging 6 in duels as well as in elimination and 2 in dominion) but im talking for the average player because when someone good gets there hands on a peacekeeper HWOBOI ur in for a very bad time and the only way to kill them is to play extremely passively and in any other mode than 1V1 that will get you 2v1'd an killed there is no adaptation. when almost half the player-base plays one of these 3 characters you know you have a problem that needs to be fixed, when it takes more skill to fight a different character not player but character then you know you have a problem, you acknowledged it with Valkyrie but now its time to do the same for the others. im not calling for a huge nerf but one that say takes their damage down a tad because with the 0 counter play to them dodging one of your attacks the amount of health you lose is insane. Basically the fast characters (orichi, berserker, and peacekeeper) are not majorly but slightly overpowered and should be changed for the release or hell even this open beta its what is for. but i know for me it sucks all the fun out of the game having to stop everything just because a fast guy walked up. untill his is fixed i know i wont be buying the game. I've played in all the closed alphas and the betas and this has remained a problem that you refuse to acknowledge.
Sincerely an enthusiastic fan.
Oh and P.S. the character that looks like a traditional samurai with the rice paper flags n'stuff has an infinite combo with his overhead power attack. you should probably fix that right away.
Well, i've mainly been playing berserker. I got a decent handle on the peacekeeper, raider and kensei i think. I've had a hard time with the counter attackers (warlord, Orochi).
Wardens, Conqueror and Nobushi is a wildcard i feel like. if you manage to jab on them abit some of them gets pretty rattled and you can go in for the kill. Some of them turns things around and just anihilate me.
I can see your point, as i often find it very easy to dodge and juke raiders and just wombocombo them down. But there a eviromental threat with raiders aswell, as they can just push you off if you're at some sort of edge. I often get killed if i cant double dodge and kite, and that goes for alot of the classes.
In the end alot of the fights seem fairly situational and down to player skill. You might not be bad, but you might also met someone that is better.
I have to agree, Peacekeepers are way too strong and their crossbow does entirely too much damage.
In fact all of their moves hit too hard for how fast and quickly they're able to both move and strike. Drives home the point of why bother playing any of the other classes if a Peacekeeper can win against them all.
thats the thing though I can play a game against AI and theyre still the hardest to take down. But like I said if you have nealy 50% of the players usilng there characters they are a bit to op a good nerf would be to take orich damage and peace keeper damge down and then reduce stamina across the bord and or reduce stamina and then make it harder or so you cant block when ur out of staminaOriginally Posted by Dextr0sity Go to original post
If your advice to taking out a charcter is to play a different one then youve missed the point. You should be able to take out all characters just as easly but you have to play differently to do so. that would make it so you have to learn multiple ways of fighting without anyone being OPOriginally Posted by Gemini-Iceland Go to original post
Welp ive done it all those characters pail in comparison to what i discovered with the nobushi i decided to try her out and my friends its the bleed talk but not what youre used to. in 1v1 ones shes fine hard to learn easy to die but my god in dominion or elimination she is a god. one of her abilities gives all of her attacks bleed but the bleed stacks with her normal bleed and actually makes them bleed more. in other words i 3 shot a warden with light attacks no joke he was at full health and then his entire health bar was red and he was going down. in the other aspects that people are complaining about shes fine without her bleed her damage is actually piss all and will take up to like 20 light attacks to kill someone
Yeah, Nobushi is actually one of the best balanced classes right now, she's solidly NOT in the top three or so classes, but comes in somewhere near the top of everybody else.Originally Posted by Kwasymotto Go to original post
I think it's mostly because although Nobushi has a lot of tech and powerful combos, she hit's a little light compared to say, Orochi, and isn't as fast as any of the assassins or Warden.
I think a lot of the people who complain about how hard nobushi is to deal with wouldn't have as many complaints if they learned to play her fairly well. Because of some things, like her guaranteed third hits on some combos, visually her speed is deceptively high, when actually starting combos and non-guaranteed hits are average.
She also has high stamina usage on a lot of her best abilities which require you to play in sets of poke then recover, which with her ability to disengage and her bleed feels really awful to play against. Once you're used to it though you get multiple opportunities to punish someone playing nobushi in a fight, and even more leeway to do so if they wiff a combo.
Some classes have to adapt a bit against her too, for one, all the assassins are a pain in the butt to play as vs nobushi because deflections are hard as **** to land against her poke, and her attacks aren't very visually telegraphed.
sorry but no. this is like a fighting game. every character is gonna have counters to another whether you like it or not.Originally Posted by Kwasymotto Go to original post
I'd change your thread name to "fast characters are a problem with not perfect connection". I've had matches where I've completely destroyed assassins and their attempts at offense with Conquerer/Warden with little effort and others where I've been R1 spammed to death while changing attack angles and I must insist, this isn't a pro Orochi or Peacekeeper wading in and breaking my defenses, it's a guy spamming R1 and random directions and me being unable to block in time. Hell, I've seen attacks of mine be BLOCKED and still connect and do damage because of connection fubars.
Thing is, this game is hard, I highly recommend anybody goes against a level 3 Peacekeeper with infinite life and time with a Warden which is the most vannilla thing you can use and just defend and get the timings, but I swear, sometimes it feels like they become unstoppable on their chains and I'm inclined to believe it's another connection thing that causes that since even with perfect connection that timming to keep those blocks going is strict. Hell, I decided to do the same, played a peacekeeper myself and wrecked a reputation 1 Warden who clearly knew how to play once I got a few more rounds against him with other heroes but with the keeper I was just R1 spamming for the win AND it was working (did have to add the odd heavy feint into guardbreak with since he stopped most guardbreaks) which is insane to me. I do hope once people "git gud" and connections stabilize that this won't be nearly as much of an issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Orochi and peacekeeper had to have their light attack chain speed taken down a bit.
