I understand what Annecy is doing, and the fact that they were willing to bump a "patch" back for QA purposes, is awesome. If anything they did at least tell us of an ETA. I know other Developers would push the update fast, and it be more buggy than Bug's Life. Am I a bit sad, yes. but for QOL purposes, let them patch the update before going gold

    holy, calm down, entitled brats

"wah, my free content is postponed a little bit, wah"

I agree, letting people know a few hours before is...unfortunate but come on, in no way it warrants such entitled whining

Why do people always call other people "whiners" ?

All we're doing is saying how disappointed we are and how unprofessional it was on Ubisoft's part. Both of which are facts.

Are we supposed to say, "It's OK, go ahead and tell us one thing, but then change it at the last minute, that's what all companies are doing these days".

saying things like "pathetic" and "wont play" just because of a little delay is way out of line. as I said, on such short notice IS unprofessional, but on the other hand, I know how some coding changes can create unexpected followup issues. maybe they thought they could sort it out in time but didnt. sh*t happens...

to me, steep ist one of the best releases ubisoft had in a while including the patches annecy rolled out, wildlands seems to be going strong too and I know a lot people who enjoyed the for honor beta as well. So I am willing to give them a little bit space again. at least annecy

It's not unprofessional to give short notice.. It'd be unprofessional if they didn't give any notice.

End of the day this is their product, they decide when it gets updated, if they get a critical issue before patch day it's their shout to not deploy that patch to production.

I'm sorry if you're hurt by this, but at the end of the day it's IT, it's how it works, it's up to them as developers and you should respect their decision.

+1 to that. I think people just love a rant these days. It's my view that Ubisoft (for a change) are taking on a lot of what the community is asking for in this game (eg No HUD mode, trick safety etc). You don't hear them writing posts praising that now do you?

I think it's the society we live in unfortunately.

I agree, I'm actually happy they decided that they needed the extra time.
That way we can be assured of a working new update the way the devs intended it.

It is amazing to see a game (linked to ubisoft) that is listening to and working so well with it's community.
I adressed this in a different thread myself shortly after the last big update. (Where I did praise them richard_hawkes )
And I am pleased to see how devoted they are to this game.

So what if we have to wait two more weeks, just be patient and enjoy the free new content that'll roll out soon enough.

Long story short, Alaska will be released soon, and then we will inform Ubisoft of all the problems we found and then ask them what they needed the extra 2 weeks for.

Does everyone realize they are still fixing and adding to the Alps which took them over 2 years to produce.

A "critical" issue might have been the reason for the delay, but if everyone is expecting all the issues to be worked out in 2 weeks, your wrong, just look at the Alps for example. Alaska will go down the same path.

Well if the release was not ready it was not ready. I hope they have time to make it nice. Please don't release a buggy add-on. I really hope a nice sale and Alaska can get sales going a bit.

Honestly, it is best for the game if the mod does not release buggy for new customers. We need the game to be in its best state for 30 or less digital sales.

The Alps was obviously "not ready" and they still released it.

For crying out loud, the very first day with the Alps, you literally could stop in the middle of a Challenge run and walk back up the hill to score more points. And that was with 2 YEARS of work.

They should have kept their word and released it on February 10th.

The only "postponement" is us telling them what's wrong with Alaska and what we want added.
